Thread: Zombie Balance

    I was thinking about making a balance system that detects out of bounds win rates for a given map and attempts to help the losing side increase win rate. Basically when the rate is greater than 60:40 the team that is losing is buffed. For zombies this can be extra health but for humans I am not sure what they should get, maybe extra nades!?

    Also for ze maps instead of giving zombies extra health I think for maps where their win rate is <40% they should get a one time user speed bonus that lasts for 5 seconds where as their speed is increased 50% and damage reduced 50%. There would be an effect to identify when a zombie is using this.

    Sounds interesting, would add more variety and something new to the server. As for a power-up for humans could you make it where they have a knock back bonus? To push zombies back if there coming in mass's. Also you could add something like a shield which negates zombies attacks for 2-3 seconds enough to get away or proceed further in a ze map.
    It's only my opinion, to each their own.

    a knockback bonus might be alright but a shield might be too powerful. It would make it much harder for early game zombies as the human could activate the shield and knife the zombie back with no fear of getting tagged. Could there be a way to limit the buffs based on the number of players left on a team, because 10 buffed zombies/humans against one might be a little ridiculous.

    Keep it simple imo. Even a health buff and extra nades well make it different. I'd say maybe test more after you see how that goes.

    Yea I am thinking that the real solution to make things more interesting would be to create a 1 time per round use sprint command that humans and zombies can use. The idea would be to give each a 50% speed bonus for 4 seconds followed by a 50% speed decrease for 2 seconds.

    What do you all think of a sprint option!?

    Sprint option is nice for both sides, something new and would be damn interesting. Or, depending on the win ratio with humans, give back bhopping to zombies once the win ratio gets too high, and once it balances back out, goes back to normal? I miss bunny hopping.

    Extra nades might hurt some people more than help :P

    I'm too lazy to think of anything, but if you want to seriously unbalance the game though, give us incendiary ammo

    You could try to add flash grenades to ze maps. Talking only 1 for the humans not 1 for every person. It would stun the zombies giving the humans time to get a lead and possibly escape death. Also it wouldn't be to op because if a noob got it they would team flash lol.

    That would improve the odds of it helping more then didn't know you could do that. Only problem i see is how you would make it available to only one person. And how they would get the flash grenade.
