Yes Nomination and RTV were both disabled. Commands didn't work. Not making it up. Not here to get people 'punished' or i would have listed names of the map changers etc. NOT sure who did it, or which admin was on, i already forgot what day it was, but it was just a few days ago. Just letting you know it did happen.
My ban was for less than 30 minutes, so not as big a deal, was more curious on peoples thoughts. Through inference, i gathered that talking back is one way to get banned, as that was the reason given before i was banned. But pretty much i was banned for having a different opinion on a rule. But yeah it's not important enough for an abuse ticket. Thanks for the information though.
In the future if i do want to provide proof for anything. Isn't there server logs? Wouldn't i just need exact time an event happened? i don't use a mic currently. Otherwise for in game proof i suppose i would use a video recorder.
How is senior admin determined? First admin logged in? Or longest time as an admin? Or is it a promoted/given position?

Rtv and nominate have been know to fail before I have seen it and all it takes is a mapchange to fix. Senior is chosen by time on the server, unless a clan member (has <ibis> as tag not <ibis.a>) comes on which would cause them to be the senior admin. As to the constant map changing, when does this happen? Sure I may not play as much as I used to, but I pop my head in every few days but I rarely see any admin use powers to change the map, rapidly or not.
Also zm maps will forever be superior to ze maps.

Yes, the first. Senior admin is the admin who connects to the server first and thus the admin that has been in-server the longest. It is not based on whether you have had an older admin subscription. In the case of after-a-map-change and the occasional server crash, the previous senior admin retains his/her privilege. Sometimes, a senior admin may delegate this privilege to another. Admins who have been afk for a while lose it and the next admin in line obtains it. Clan members may also claim senior admin rights when they play, if they so wish.

The map names, dates, and times (in EST I think, haven't used it in a while) are all listed from oldest (top) to newest (bottom). Should be noted that old demos are deleted over time, and you should not expect to find demos older than 5 days.
In the case that a user is actually "talking back" and not trying to sort things out, punishment typically scales: warning, short mute/gag, longer mute/gag or kick, and then ban if the user persists. That's how I did it anyway.
From my experience, rtv and nominate can be rather fickle, and as Blackout said, will fail at times. I don't have a large sample size to base this off of, but I think that if an admin sets the next map in queue, either through vote or console command, rtv and nomination will not work. That is why I like to find out what maps people want to play next and then use a set map, change map, or map vote command when the map nears ending, rather than deciding and setting what everyone will play next before round one ends.

I've definitely seen admins flat out cancel RTVs before after choosing a map basically only they wanted to play. Should this be reported in the future as admin abuse?

So whats the difference between a clan member? and an admin? Who are the clan members how did they generally get to be clan members? Just been around a long time?
I said that i've been playing the past few weeks, but on this Steam account i started in 2010 according to the server. It's a new steam account because my old one i lost the password to, think it was hacked. So i likely started on IBIS before that, but unsure of the exact dates, maybe 2008 makes sense. So i hope there is no offense taken as in: this guy started yesterday and has opinions. lol
As for talking back, Omega it's fine i agree with you.
Why would you say ZM is superior? Most people run to the same spot, in which the cade is so strong you could just AFK there and win. Of course you wont get any kills. It's either a crushed crate in which you can put a vending machine (or a vending machine spawns). Someone should remove the 2 vending machines that spawn inside the crushed red container from zm lila panic beach..that container is way overpowered. i don't know it just seems that every map has 1 or 2 cade spots which are impregnable by zombies, unless the humans inside don't know how to cade it, or destroy it with a grenade. (many are actually grenade proof.. )
All these maps could be edited to make them slightly more challenging for humans. Otherwise on ZM most of the challenge is for zombies, or noob players. ZM might have been the best 5 years ago. But now when you have players who know the maps, and played for so long it's better to make the maps slightly harder for humans. (there are some hard ZM maps) but they are rarely played on. I usually run to the hardest to cade spots, while one guy will run to same room/vent every round and get 20 kills.. then he brags he has more skill than me. LOL i dunno..
Ze is way more random, everyone has a chance to die, noobs make things unpredictable, you need more teamwork on a grander scale. When the zombies are good, you really need to defend as there is no unstoppable cade to prevent you from dying. You can't AFK during a whole round. Etc. For me skill is equal to the amount of risk you take, and if you survive while doing it. If you take no risks you basically have no skills.
I'm not saying ZE is better, just that ZM could be improved. I chose IBIS for so many years because you have both ZE and ZM. Otherwise id just play a ZE server.
Cancelled? Like a map was already chosen? And the admin just changes map without warning? Yes, happened once. We were at the end of voodoo, making votes for next map. It was 14 for Parking, and 13 for another escape map. We won the parking vote. Corpsman changed the map to ZM Desert fortress. Not saying this to get him in trouble, just if you guys decide its dumb maybe you could talk to the admins and let them know not to cancel votes? You guys already said admins can change map to whatever they want, so i am confused.
By changing maps, the admins usually just change the map, wait for the maps full time to end. Then they choose the next map. So it's not rapid map changing. It's just 3 hours while admins are on no one really has a say in what map to play.

So a clan member is no longer just an admin they are uperlevel admin and part of the IBIS family they can make the call to permaban someone on the forums, tell uper/lower lvl admins what they need to stop doing and or can do to be better admins, Uper lvl admin are basicly ClanMembers in traning they have permanban right on the forums after reviewing videos just like Clan and can again ask other admins to stop doing things they should not, then there is normal admin we only have the right to help people in times of need and or take a matter into our hands if there is someone getting out of hand on the server or hacking/scriping we are more like the haul monitors for the big boysNgirls just to help them because they are not as many as we. I hope this helps bro also u have been with us for a good some of time so if you could plz go back to how u were and just stop trolling/harassing people man i know u are better then this.

On the main page of the forums at the bottom next 2 the "mark forums read" button, there is another that says "view site leaders" click that, scroll down 2 the section titled "IBIS" everyone in that list is clan.
admins are community regulars who just end up purchasing admin rights.... anyone can purchase it.
2 become part of the clan, you must first make an app in the clan app section.... and after on average of 2-4 years... you might get in... but probably wont as we only take a couple people once every year or two. The clan have full power over the community basically... we're people who've been around a very long time, and help run this place and enforce the rules and make sure everything is running smoothly between the servers and forums. Clan can do whatever they want and only answer 2 zero, as where admins, community regulars, ULA's etc. all answer 2 the clan.
crying about admins changing maps is pointless... it's how we do things in this community and always have... and always will.
if an admin is changing maps for hours on end and hijacking the map rotation.... fine that's something worth complaining about... but when maps are changed here and there, it's fine.

this is very different than cancelling an RTV. the admin can decide which map to go to next, and if towards the end of the map, the normal vote comes up and the admin doesn't like the choices, they can cancel it and either put their own vote up, or simply set the next map.
