I have VERY high hopes for season 3, but first episode has been the worst in the series. Granted, it also has some of the best scenes in the series, but still, it was very poor in comparison. However, all of the reviews I've seen/read suggest that after that the 1st two episode are by far the weakest, my hopes and my hype is still at unreasonably high levels.

ehhh, i loved the episode. it's only flaw is that it's following up the incredibly season 2 finale, and is essentially serving as a plot-opener. it does nothing but ass more plot hooks to replace those that were tied off in season 2, and thus will feel a bit hollow. overall, however, i loved it. didn't like the scene with Jon Snow, however.
