Renters insurance is good but once something happens and you move out they drop you like flies. Thats what happened to me once my shit got stolen.

Good luck on recovering everything, I do not envy you.
Glad that you were not harmed.
Ok... so I finally got five minutes today in my appt... it seems that the electronics and the magic the gathering cards are ok. all my cloths, my bed, couch, etc... basically anything with fabric is not doing so well. Now... here's the fun part..... when I went into my appt.... I noticed right away some things were not where they belonged.... I ran 2 my bedroom 2 check my jewelry and noticed that my pure silver chain, my great grandfathers world war 2 ring which was made of solid gold, 35 dollars in cash and a bag of mushrooms were all gone.
I was able 2 secure a new appt, so I'm living there now. I wont have internet for a week or so till it's switched over and wont be on a hell of a lot till I have.... things 2 put in my home again as I'm still not sure when they will allow me 2 actually move out when I can salvage.
It's great the electronics are still ok, but the amount of clothes I had, my limited edition Yankees Jersey, the jewelry, couches, chairs etc that I lost is really hard 2 swallow. Will take some time 2 replace all that shit. Will update when I know a bit more. Tomorrow will be getting the family lawyer out of the closet and dealing with all that fun shit as someone needs 2 answer for this. what kind of piece of shit person honestly would go and steal from people who are in my situation? It's pathetic people like that exist out there.... but enough ranting for now, will fill you guys in more tomorrow.

What you may want to look into the Fire Department's investigation of the fire. One is always done. There are several reasons for this:
1. If there was a building code violation that the landlord should have fixed that lead to the fire, you may have some luck there.
2. If the person's apartment that burnt down caused it due to being retarded, you may also have some luck.
You may not have a solid case, but for civil court you don't need it, and at this point if you get, hell, $500 out of it, that's better than nothing.
