How did he/she abuse: I wrote a request at the minecraft section (As im obviously a "Noob") And ill just paste it in here. It should cover the rest.


So, it has come to my attention that your staff on the ZM server, specifically "Yonkers" Seem to be abusing his powers. I took notice of this as i was spectating him after my death, and noticed he jumped into the volcano on the map "zm_paradise". Now he wanted to go back out of it and started slapping himself.

This is not the first time i have seen him slapping himself to move around on the map, I did notice this on the map we played just before also, that he slapped himself to move around in the air potentially trying to make it to the safe zone of the humans before the zombies got nuked This was on a "Zombie Escape" Map.

Anyhow, i tried telling him that he shouldn't use the commands for such things (Moving himself). Now he responded to me "Who are you to tell me so? I guess you just get turned on by dictating people around don't you?" I felt this as an insult, as i myself was just trying to talk some sense into him as i dislike Admins who use their powers only to gain an advantage over the normal players which have no powers what so ever.

Now i responded with "Sorry, but i feel you are being kind of a dick right now. What gives you the right to act like a dick towards anyone?"

Yonkers then responded with a PM saying "So you called me a dick?, Well who's the banned dick now?" And then a couple seconds afterwards a wild banned message appears on my screen, crashing my game. Now newly made friend whose name is "Lewis" Which i met on the server yesterday, asked them to unban me as i had not done anything wrong. The response he received was shocking. I am unsure if it was Jesus, or Yonkers which gave the response as i was not in the game at the time, however the admins ressponse to this was "I will perm ban you" (heres a cutout from our conversation on steam.)

As you can see, im not very happy about your admin on this server. I don't necessarily want you to ban him, but the least you can do is remove his Admin privileges, as he seems to abuse them, and he seems to be vulgar and rude agains the other players.

Okay so here goes. I was there when all this took place. Aside from the retaliations on both sides, be it verbal or written, both were kind of unexcused. But Yonkers was yes slapping himself, especially when he was zombie. This particular instance, Yonkers did slap himself out of the volcano (which is actually where he needed to be.) and landed himself back on the rim of the Volcano, where all the zombies had to go anyways. There were no zombies around at that time, and honestly it didn't really hold much relevance anyways as he and everybody else that wasn't inside the volcano were going to die anyways. But Drizzle was telling Yonkers he shouldnt slap himself around, Yonkers retorted. Drizzle responded by calling Yonkers a dick, if I remember correctly.

Granted there probably should have been a kick or gag first, I had just banned a guy prior to that for the same thing, so essentially the warning was out there.

First, you need to post a demo. you can find demos at ftp://zm.ibisgaming.com/. I will go ahead and download/upload the demo for paradise that was on when your ban was invoked, but for any future action on threads within rules, please provide the demo. It is easily available proof on exactly what happened.

The specific rules you are saying yonkers broke are Admin ToS rules 4 and 5 as well as General Server Rules II. 1--which is exploiting and enough of a offense to warrant a perma ban.

As a hint, when you think a admin is abusing, your best bet is to contact another admin if your first request for stopping is ignored. Never insult an admin, because that is enough to get you banned here (though most will let it slide or at least warn you first as they are supposed to). Just find a ULA or regular admin to report it to and they will handle it. Most admins take their job pretty seriously.

2) Player continuously nags others and continues despite reasonable requests to silence including mutes and kicks
3) Players that disrespect Admins or <ibis>
A) Player that nags an admin repeatedly despite being told to
B) Player that is not respectful of someone of a higher position

b) Screaming into mic
c) Ranting about how the admin, ect is gay ect.

Yonkers did definitely overstep his bounds.

Tick 12000 Yonkers slaps himself to the top of the volcano and tries to play off that this isn't abuse because anyone can get there (the abuse is that they can't get there that quickly and that it takes some semblance of skill to jump up. After being called out on it by drizzle, he suicides and asks if he likes that.
drizzle says, "no".
Yonkers then says, "well, you are more then welcome to start a forum post or keep crying about it."
Drizzle then says, "I just want you to stop that."
Yonkers says, "Just couldn't deal, just couldn't deal"
Drizzle says, "Why are you being such a dick?"
Drizzle says, "You think you can be a dick just because you had admin?"
Farn says, Damn, drizzle is getting mad"
Drizzle says, "As I said"
Drizzle leaves the server at 21300

Jesus says, "drizzle, if you can't handle the heat, get the fuck out of the server."

Tick 23000 Lewis says, "Unban please"
Jesus says, "Did you just ban drizzle?"
Yonkers admits it
Jesus accuses Lewis of being a second account for Drizzle
Lewis says, "No"
Yonkers picks up on it and starts wigging out asking him if he is asking for a permaban for avoiding the ban
Lewis says, "No?"
Lewis finally sets him straight
Yonkers says, "Well, sorry but your friend is a dick"
Woot comes in and asks to be filled in
Yonkers says, "Nothing, he called me a dick and I wanted it to be a day so I gave him a day.

I see a bunch of stuff happening here that is absurd.

Yonkers was definitely abusing admin powers to quickly reach the top of the volcano.

When called out on it, it definitely sounded like Yonkers was passive aggressively trolling to get a rise out of Drizzle.

Drizzle reacted by calling Yonkers a dick, and was banned without warning. No warning was given to Drizzle to and therefore the ban was unwarranted, especially since he has no previous bans. Nowhere on the rules does it say you can ban someone without warning them for disrespect, albeit towards an admin or otherwise.

I would suggest reposting in the unban forum along with the demo and the ticks I provided. This will enable you to get back to playing on IBIS servers faster as well as show the ban was deleted in your ban history.

Yonkers, I would suggest you go back and read all of the applicable punishments as well as the correct procedure when dolling out bans. Also, properly labeling your bans is very helpful for repeat offenders.

Well I will poke one hole in that hole topic Passarelli. He slapped himself from inside the Volcano back to the top. The goal is to get to the inside of the Volcano and press the button to make it erupt and you stay down there and defend until it does. So him slapping himself out of the volcano and to the top was essentially just making himself closer to the zombies. Granted I slapped myself into the air on that one as well, while I was zombie, but never had a single intention on tagging anyone by doing so. If I decided that I was going to tag again I would go back to where I came from or !ztele back to the start and do it again.

If you watch the demo though, he clearly wasn't dicking around. He slapped himself up, and was trying to snipe zombies with the scout when they were parachuting into the water.

Use admin privileges sparingly and appropriately.

Seeing as ze_paradise_v1 was on - and RoflLoLmao.ibis.a had turned on chutes - I (I guess unprecedentedly) started slapping myself. I also did slap myself out of the volcano, and stupid me - I did shoot at, but don't recall hitting zombies. Regardless - I had pursued, and achieved the objective of a now superfluous objective - as chutes were turned on. I won't defend what I can't and I understand slapping is a privilege over-used. Sorry.

However - at this point I'd like to point out that I didn't ban Drizzle because he hurt my feelings (I have none).
I sincerely doubt, and cant attest to, that no other admin would simply take being called a "dick" lightly.
Also, after several verbal attempts to make clear to Drizzle that his bullshit would not be tolerated - he persisted.

If any wrong doing was committed on my part, I apologize to the server and server's owners.

Ask any other admin how lenient I am compared to any other Admin here.

Other than being a well-worded, in-format thread - I don't see what you want done being merited.

You still don't disregard policy. I don't care if you slap yourself 7 ways from sunday, but just be sure to stop when asked. The biggest issue I saw was when he called you a dick you banned him immediately. You gave him no warning that he was crossing a line by saying that. If you kicked him and gave the proper reason he was kicked or even said it verbally that you were in no mood to be disrespected, etc, it would have been fine. The point is, there is a documented procedure in place that you did not follow.

Also, I apologize if I misrepresented what you said in any way. That was not my intent. I was exact as I could be, but some portions were difficult with the loudness of areas of the map and people talking over each other.
