Ban request - Yonkers

Yonkers, we are talking about you here, not him. If he wants to get his ban removed, he would have to make a separate thread as I previously suggested that he should do.

You should be well aware of the Admin ToS as well as all of the rules.

First off, you banned him for disrespect because he said you were acting like a dick. For this you gave him a 1 day ban. That is way, way to long of a ban for a first offense of this magnitude with no prior warning.

Here, let me show you how to figure out the appropriate action to take! First, you find the offense. In this case, it would be:

VII. Respect under General Server rules
3) Players that disrespect Admins or <ibis>
B) Player that is not respectful of someone of a higher position

If you would have warned him, that would have made it VII.3.A

So then you go down to the appropriate punishment which would be:

I. Kicks
Should be given out to players to break the rules and disrupt the game. A verbal and admin say warring should be given out in advanced of a kick.
1) If players fail to respond within a reasonable time frame they should be kicked for violation of any of the following

Again, it says you should warn him before even kicking him. You skipped 2 steps and went straight for the ban. That said, let us look at the duration listed for temp bans with no prior warning.

2) Violation of any of the following after the player has been kicked (or the rules bypass are met) for preforming said violation. Note that instant bypasses should not be longer than an hour or so. Also remember that the player should have been clearly warned before the issue of said ban.

Again, it tells you to warn him. It also notes that the ban should not be longer then an hour or so. This to me is much less then a day, maybe 6 hours at a max.

So this tells me at the bar minimum, you should brush up on your enforcement policies.

Now let us do yours!

Under Zm Rules:

Admins may not use commands excessively oneself (EX. slapping)
Using the slap command to get an unfair advantage

Then it simply says to report the offending admin here.

You also violated these rules in the Admin ToS:

4. Use admin privileges sparingly and appropriately.
9. Banning someone should only be used as a last resort to get a player to listen or to remove a hacker.(In other words mute a spammer do not ban him right away.)
11. Punishment should be issued in accordance with the server rules topic located in the rules forum http://www.ibisgaming.com/forums/showthread.php?t=495

This also has the punishment applicable.

Breaking these rules in any way will result in admin privileges being revoked, and for more severe cases being removed from the clan, server, ect. All cases will be evaluated and assessed by high ranking clan members. If you feel that a clan member / admin has broken any of these rules, please post in the correct fourm. Admin is not refundable.

By the way, I don't really see how this situation is anything akin to OJ murdering his wife and a waiter that was returning eyeglasses. Who are you comparing OJ to? I hope you aren't targeting that at someone. I know I would think that it is a bit more disrespectful and a hell of a lot worse to call someone a murderer then calling someone a dick. But maybe that is just me?

I have taken note of my response where i called Yonkers a dick ("Why are you being such a dick?"). I Sincerely apologize for this, since i didn't think of the outcome of saying this. I do hope my apology is accepted Yonkers, and that we can stay neutral against eachother.

When I said this, i was not thinking clearly. I was frustrated watching Yonkers using the slap command to get out of the volcano, as i dislike Admins who use their powers when its not necessarily needed.

Anyone who plays with Yonkers obviously knows that when he slaps himself around he is just fucking around or learning new things about the map.

Passereli, while I appreciate your love of bureaucracy, you go way too far. Chill and learn to just take things how they are.
