Hello Ibis community, as the title says I'm writing this in the hope to get "unrestricted" on your ZM server. The reason is simple, it prevents me from picking items on various ZE maps, making my gaming experience on your server less enjoyable. As for the reason I got restricted, for those wondering, I got restricted once by Zero (not 100% sure about name) for "trolling" with wind wand on ze_harry_potter, whilst in fact on 1st "trolling" a zombie got past me thus sending him flying towards humans, and on 2d try I got killed at beginning with teleport cause I was using my wand to prevent zombies from getting their wands & didn't know quite well the teleport time yet.
After a request in game, I got unrestricted by the same admin about 20-25 minutes later. Thanks for that, Zero =)

However, yesterday I got restricted again. And this time no trolling with wind (never picked it up again) nor with any wands, just some guys yelling in their microphones how I "suck wands" and blablabla. So I ignore them & just keep taking & using wands like fire & ice, and then the guy who kept yelling for 30 minutes how bad I suck at CSS finally managed to convinced some admin to get me permanently restricted cause I "stole his wand" or something.

All this to say that the reason I got restricted again seems ridiculous to me, as it seems that some trolls who keep repeating something for 30 mins is enough to convince some admins to permanent restrict regular players.

Ok I misused wands a few times, but who never did? Permanent restrict should be reserved to people who are purposely trolling, in my opinion, and not to players who make a few mistakes.

I asked an admin in game how to get unrestricted & he redirected me there, so here I am.

I hope you'll accept my unrestriction request, and thanks for taking the time of reading that.

Who restricted you? They are not supposed to restrict you for "sucking" at using items. They are supposed to use !etransfer and !ebans are only supposed to be used for griefers. If you tell me who did it and I will talk to them

No. Leave this fool restricted. He constantly strafe runs ahead with a scout to pick up important items and never actually bothers to learn how to use them properly. Items are not toys for your amusement, they're crucial tools for humans to win. I don't remember exactly who restricted you but I think it was either RapeTrain or Blade. They were right to do it.

@ hoshiro I don't remember who restricted me however I remember the troll was called Mad something. According to Sup it should be RapeTrain or Blade.

@ sup calling someone you know from a few css rounds a "fool" isn't really mature. Yes I use scout, like some other players do. I never bother to learn how to use wands? Sorry but I can't learn everything about where & when to use all kinds of wands in 30 mins. Items are not toys for my amusement but tools to win round? They may be tools to win but don't forget css is a videogame whose main purpose is supposed to have fun. If the fact that I misused some wands during some rounds makes you call people like me a fool, I suggest you look at those players from another point of view.

I'm trying to pull up the demo. In the future, if you don't know what to do with wands, don't pick them up. I'll have to find the admin and ask him why he restricted you and i'll decide after that.

I can't find the demo of this happening. But I think that restricting weapons on harry potter might be glitching items so others can't pick them up. I'll have to test this but if this is the case, then you'll have to be unbanned so you don't glitch items on others. Etransfer will just have to work. I'll have to review a demo I got to see if this is the case.

Admins will just have to ban griefers.

Yea the issue is that the ent watch should force them to drop the ent if they pick it up and are banned.

But I think the way Harry potter works is when you go through the wand glow it teleport you to a room where you pick it up and then back to the level. If someone who is restricted goes through, he might glitch up the process thus making the wand lost in the void.

If I recall correctly, you didn't know how to use your wand and despite numerous people asking you to learn how to use your wand you continuously picked up wands that you didn't know how to use. You were ignoring people's pleas and their advice that you learn to use your wands before picking them up. I'm quite sure the reason I ebanned you was numerous avadas at the beginning of each round despite several people advising against it, but I could be confusing your misuse with someone else's. Either way, the reason was you didn't know how to use them and you kept picking them up. You shouldn't pick up a wand if you don't know how to use it.

I wouldn't be against unrestricting you if you actually went into spectate at some point and watched how other people used their wands. Pay attention to how they're used and whether or not the person using it is doing so effectively. Alternatively, just pick up a wand like fire or slow which is helpful but not crucial for a victory. By using a valuable wand you don't know how to use, you're hindering your team and forcing us all to go through the same level over and over again.

I'd like to point out those were not pleas, but mostly insults / aggressive "advices". As for the fact I should go spec to learn, there are few people who know how to use wands, meaning I could be mislead by wrong people. I also prefer to play rounds rather than just watch them, since if I launch css it's to "play" not to simply "watch". That's why I prefer practice over theory.

That's a possibility, but it's true I picked avada a few times (and died when using it at pre boss cause zombie using their wands skillfully, or when the wand itself bugged).

Either way, the reason was you didn't know how to use them and you kept picking them up. You shouldn't pick up a wand if you don't know how to use it.

Then you give 0 chance to people experienced HP map for 1st times to learn how to use them. Even if you are inexperienced with wands, you can earn that needed experience through other experienced team members telling you when to use it.

Blaming it all on a single wand / person for failing the round continuously is simply pathetic. This is a game which requires teamwork, and even without avada you can win if you use all other spells right (ammo & heal at boss, wall / ice / wind / fire / poison / slow cover, 80% cts without wands at boss, 20% help cover).

If the reason I got banned is cause I misused the wands, then I can't of course tell you it's 100% safe I won't ever do any mistake as we're all humans, but I can tell you all the "non experienced" arguments are useless now. If I require that unrestrict it's of course to enjoy using items, but also cause I can claim I have the skills to use them on most ze maps (Westersand / Paramina / Skyrim etc) for I have played countless hours on those maps (fewer on HP ofc since it's just been released), thus helping the team to reach victory on zombie escape maps. If the period I spent personally to learn how to use some wands on your server caused you trouble then I can only apologize for that. However you should know that had never been my intention.

You’re playing on an Ibis server - people throwing insults for you using an item incorrectly is to be expected. Actually, quite a few people know how to use their wands. I can list some off the top of my head if you like (non-admins, of course). Part of getting good at the game is by spectating people to see what they’re doing and how successful they are. I can guarantee you if you spec someone who knows what they’re doing and you actually pay attention you will learn a few things.

And that’s fine, I know (at least Avada) is bugged, but I do recall you using it at the wrong time (beginning of the round). Dying with an item isn’t trolling, it’s just inexperience. I don’t really care about that - it sucks and it can set us back quite a bit when someone with a good wand dies but we have to get over that and continue the round. Although I will say that if you’re prone to dying maybe you shouldn’t be picking up wands in the first place, for the aforementioned reason.

That’s not true at all, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if you go into spectator you will learn how to use your wands. I understand the first 4-5 times we play the map people will be inexperienced but the people who know how to play the map now know how to use their wands and do so correctly. I recommend (so that you don’t get yelled at) spectating people.

Then maybe you shouldn’t pick up wands if you’re not willing to learn how to use them. This only strengthens my reasoning for ebanning you. I couldn’t care less about ’stealing’ a wand that doesn’t even belong to the whiner.

I apologize if I came across as though I were blaming only you for us losing our rounds, that’s not the way I meant for that to sound, nor is it what I meant. I understand that some people use Push too early, or avada gets used and then zombies run away and no one gets killed by it, or heal activates just that second too late and everyone gets killed or ammo, instead of using their wand sits next to the boss with a knife in one hand and a thumb up their ass. Shit happens. People are stupid. People make mistakes.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, I really think you need to go watch a few rounds from spec and pay attention to how certain wands are used. Once you’ve done that I don’t have any problem with you being unbanned. I did at first think you were trolling with the items (avada at round start), and then I came to read your post and noticed that you actually have some legitimate points and I’m trying to bring up a few of my own. Inexperience is fine, but you have to learn at some point but trial and error only sets us back. Can you imagine if new people joined the server every day and just picked up wands without knowing how to use them? (oh, wait … )

EDIT: I would also like to add that not having access to a wand does not mean that you can't play the map. You seem to think they go hand in hand.
