Thread: CS:S Server Migration

  1. Exclamation CS:S Server Migration

    Over the next few days you will start to see the servers migrated over to a new host. Instructions for things like the location of demo files will change as well.

    Hostnames will point to the new ips. Some servers will require non default ports (ie will be on port 27016, 27017 etc)

    Updated ips will be announced when the new servers are online. There will be some downtime on the existing servers.

    When the new servers are fully operational names of the old servers will change to direct players to the new servers.

    The new servers will have higher performance and generally lower latency.

    I added the new server to my list but it says, server: is not currently playing on any game sever. Are they still down?

    Did you click refresh?

    Also be sure to flush your DNS resolver cache to ensure you are getting the new ips:

    Open Command Prompt
    ->
    ipconfig /flushdns
    ->
    press enter
    ->
    flushed

    Do we need to reset our rates?

    If you were a beautiful sound in the echos all around, I'd be your harmony.

    Should be the same but if you built them based on a particular latency you may need to update them if your latency has changed dramatically.
