Mami Kawada is always good to listen to; honestly, I think Toaru and Shana wouldn't nearly be as good without her voice

Wow, I normally don't listen to Vocaloid, save for a couple songs. I like the loads of fan art for Vocaloid, but I mostly prefer the NND covers. (With the exception of Just Be Friends and Answer, at times I like the original just as much). I should probably look into some more myself, (I know the Vocaloid fanbase would hang me for this next bit) because Aria is now the first song I like featuring Miku-- the first one that wasn't really annoying. Oh, and is it just me, or does IA's voice not resemble Lia as much in World Calling? o_O


I like Amanda Lee's English rendition of Just Be Friends and Answer (not from NND). I like her voice, I'm meh on her transcriptions:

btw did you know that Just Be Friends was banned from nico nico. There was a big scandal with the animation for it. You see this was made by a young girl and for the artwork she used a cut and trace method for drawing rather than free hand. When people found out it was not by freehand an internet riot ensued resulting in its removal. As a result it is also not very popular back in japan. The song however as it is a great work became very popular in the US where the drama was shielded by the language barrier.

Also to bad these renditions of that song do not have the original visuals b/c some parts like the red string of fate are very important for the meaning of the song.

For example you can see places where it had been cut and tied back together. There is actually a lot of symbolism in the visuals for Just be Friends that unfortunately a lot of the US audience does not notice.
