Thread: Do you have a ps3? no fanboys =P

Ah, PS3.. It has been the most reliable console I've had so far. I had to replace Xbox 360 four times because it kept malfunctioning and what not.

    MetricZero

    Current games:
    Battlefield: Bad company
    Ratchet and Clank Future
    The Orange Box
    Assassins Creed
    Grand Theft Auto 4
    Unreal Tournament 3
    Star Wars: Force Unleashed
    Infamous
    Prototype

    Getting:
    M.A.G.
    Battlefield: Bad Company 2
And of course, R&C Future: Crack in Time

The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.

    really?

    you are serious?

I'm not sure that your statement is true. I will admit that I don't have all the facts myself, but can you honestly state that you've researched microsoft?

Where does microsoft buy it's parts from?
Where does the microsft part suppliers get their materials from?
I can't answer those b/c i don't know and i'm too lazy to look it up.

When talking about an AMERICAN COMPANY, you gotta look at it's size. Smaller American companies will do most of their business within the US, just b/c they're small. A big major corperation that has a world wide network of consumers and markets are probally not doing over 40% of their business in the US where, generally, they pay much more for their materials and employees.

When talking about an AMERICAN COMPANY in relations to the AMERICAN ECONOMY while trying to bash other people for buying foriegn products, you should look at what you got in your own home.

ipod-apple, are they made and developed over 40% in the US with US employees?

    appliances-GE?

    tv, flatscreen?

the computer that you are now using to post your remark on the internet?

times are hard for a lot of people and families right now, you can't bash them for buying foreign products that may offer a higher quality of service.

And bashing people on these forums, where a good 50% are still living at home b/c they're still in high school or college, for buying foreign products that their parents got for them is not really productive.

everything part from everything I own probably was made in another counrty using cheap labor. every major compnay does it, yes even sony buys its components from 3rd world countries, you can't say that since sony is another country's corporation that its wrong to support an american company.

at least bill gates the owner of microsoft gives back to his country. did you know bill gates has his own charity he runs with his wife and each year he gives outs a million in scholarships to college and high school students. what has the CEO of sony done for japan besides sit on his skinny japanese ass and eat sushi???

look at our economy right now, its already hit rock bottem and is barely starting to climb back out. if you can't remember exactly one year ago today was when oil kept falling, commodities keep falling, stock in general was on a major down fall, pensions were falling apart.

you wanna know why cause we as american consumers are not supporting our own corporations (even if they are jacking up the price) but looking for cheaper alternatives to something from an off shore company.

All of the gaming consoles are made by Taiwanese manufacturers that have the majority of the parts created in red China. All three have an IBM processor, two ATI graphics and PS3 with Nvidia. So, most of the technology inside is American, albeit 3-5 year old technology.

The only money Sony or Microsoft makes comes from game publishers that need to pay licenses for their developer's to sell a game on a platform. The license makes up at most 5-8% of the total cost consumers spend on gaming and most of that goes to subsidizing the cost of the console (since Xbox 360 and PS3 are sold at a loss for the most part).

Meanwhile, retailers make at minimum 8-12% on every sale of console or game (more in the first several months of a game's release) and game developers make 30-40%. Both of which are mostly Americans.

So, to make a nationalistic argument is pretty silly since most of the money will be going to Americans in any case.

I think it's easier to make the argument against the Xbox 360 because it's higher failure rate could be seen as fleecing American consumers.

well, both inthebutt and mallisins replies are informative and i'm too lazy to verify it, so i accept it as truth. lol, the internet, it's full of truth.

btw, has anyone noticed that most of the games with very feminine looking guys are developed in asian countries? just don't buy girly-men games. lol.

ohh hai. This must be where all the flaming homo fanboys come out to talk. LOL. Its a shame thats what most of you are, and not real "gamers". By "gamers" I mean appreciate all games and not nuthug from a system that has a 50% failure rate, or from the glorified blu-ray player. Some of you calling God of War and Uncharted alright games at best, while hugging on a gay ass FPS called Halo, which was better when it was called Unreal Tournament BTW, and others saying Gears of War is alright, while hugging on Resistance when they are both pretty much the same fucking game. THE SAME!!!!

Let go of the ballsacks people.
