I'm not sure that your statement is true. I will admit that I don't have all the facts myself, but can you honestly state that you've researched microsoft?
Where does microsoft buy it's parts from?
Where does the microsft part suppliers get their materials from?
I can't answer those b/c i don't know and i'm too lazy to look it up.
When talking about an AMERICAN COMPANY, you gotta look at it's size. Smaller American companies will do most of their business within the US, just b/c they're small. A big major corperation that has a world wide network of consumers and markets are probally not doing over 40% of their business in the US where, generally, they pay much more for their materials and employees.
When talking about an AMERICAN COMPANY in relations to the AMERICAN ECONOMY while trying to bash other people for buying foriegn products, you should look at what you got in your own home.
ipod-apple, are they made and developed over 40% in the US with US employees?
appliances-GE?
tv, flatscreen?
the computer that you are now using to post your remark on the internet?
times are hard for a lot of people and families right now, you can't bash them for buying foreign products that may offer a higher quality of service.
And bashing people on these forums, where a good 50% are still living at home b/c they're still in high school or college, for buying foreign products that their parents got for them is not really productive.
