    You know what? You are very right. When I played, the map was jurassic park, where there were many obstacles for zombies. I guess in a map with no obstacles, the zombies will be on our asses quicktime.

    Damn. That is also very true. All it takes is 1 zombie to spread the infection to the rest.

    Kavinsky changed my perspective on this. LOL. Yes, i think I'd have to say your idea of speedy sidestrafing + holy's # limitation is the PROPER compromise

    Even if the ZM server is stripped down to what it was a year ago, people are going to find a way to complain.


    Remove the ranks and let ZM be already.

    I agree 100% with holy on this.

    The reason why I stick around and annoy everyone is b/c the ZM server is really a good server. It's unique the way that zero & co. really balanced it out with the classes, the limited ammo/reload and made it fun with the parachutes. Combined with the knockback's, it's fun to be a zombie or a human.

    I think that if there's going to be changes to the ZM server, then there should be a thread to list all the complaints, then give the complaints a ranking system, then address them one by one with a thorough discussion.

    Lenghty and time consuming, I know, but really, IBIS has one of the best ZM servers that I know of.

    I hate fast zombies on escape maps - ESPECIALLY jurassic Park (all versions). Its no fun getting tagged within the first 30 seconds. And when everyone is a fast zombie, you really have no chance. Give or take the zombie is an idiot. Please either take them out during escape maps, lower their speed or a totally different zombie.

    Rank - This one im not to concerned about as it provides some health competition for myself. Makes it fun being able to rank up. But if its taken out, it wouldnt be the end of the world for me.

    Parachute - I love these as it makes the game much more fun, being able to fly to the rock in roy highway is my fav. Some maps like rooftop do need it turned off, but most of the time I just find it fun!

    Maybe we could spice up the zombie classes a little bit to make the other ones a little more worth while (Is anyone EVER the guerellia(sp?) guy?)

    Edit: Oh and whats zombie vision? I dont think ive ever used it :P

    zombie vision is just the decoration on your screem when youget turned.

    You'll notice the transparent, blood vein membrane at the edge of the screen.

    I'd also like to mention that the zombie vision here is over nine thousand times better than any other servers I've played on. It doesn't distort, hinder or change the color of your vision but still ,lets you know your a zombie with a quick glance.

    I hate zombie vision because it gets annoying and its a little hard to see. I have a key binded just to get rid of zombie vision.

    I think people realize they are a zombie when they can't use guns anymore and other people are shooting at them.

    Ranks we could do away with. I miss the old ones that would let other people know how experienced the player they caded with was.

    For instance, noob, regular, specialist, master, 31337.

    It's not the rankings that make it more serious, it's the need for cooperation. In WCS, GG and Pub, you still play fairly independent with some cooperation to win. But in ZM, cooperation is often a necessity.

    I'm all for removing rank for other reasons, but it's not the cause of the tension on the server most of the time.

    I don't have an issue with fast zombies on escape maps, but I do have issue with their ability to avoid knockback by straft running (holding W and A/S while angling with mouse). It's this that really dooms most people on escape maps.

    I also like parachutes. I think it adds something to the gameplay, albeit too much on some maps like rooftop escape. Are there variables in the parachute mod you can change?

    appears so.

    another thing:
    Fast on ZE's, don't like.
    Fast on ZM's, i think if it's removed, then the challenge of staying human will be dramaticly reduced. Especially in crawl spaces where all other zombies go ridiculously slow in, the fast will have a very good chance of getting in there and/or causing a comical panic. fun for both sides.
