I hear this same argument when girls refer to Edward in Twilight. "HES JUSHT PRETECTING HERZ LOLZ!!!!" Obviously you've never heard of divorce. There are men that get married and dote on a chick if she's hot. Then they realize that they're 40, the beauty she has has faded and all they have left is some crazy high-maintenance woman who couldn't add 80 and 20 if her life depended on it.
I won't apologize for this rant. It's the internet.
In all honesty it's their fault for popping the question simply because the woman they want to marry is beautiful is their only reason.
