@ren: at what age were you diagnosed? im nineteen now and i was diagnosed when i was sixteen but i had diabetes for some time before i was diagnosed because i had the symptoms but i thought it was normal.

I was 18 and just about to transfer to another university and move away from home for the first time. I had also just broken up with my boyfriend of 3 years and got my wisdom teeth out and had to go to the emergency room because I kept throwing up and my blood sugars were dropping. It was awkward. I fondly remember that as the best summer of my life.

Honestly, I'm probably still in the angry phase. I don't take my shots very much and my A1cs are around 10. I know I'm going to die, blah blah. I kind of forsee that I'm more of the "hit by a bus" person, though, so I'm not overly concerned. I'd really like to get in better control, though... I'm just so ANGRY that I'm supposed to take a shot every time I eat. Fuck that.

how old are you now? have you had your cholesterol checked?

I just make sure to check them when I feel myself really getting irritable and mad at things that shouldn't bother me.
