Sigh...
First (if you haven't yet)...run DISC CLEANUP, and do a defrag.
Second, go to www.ccleaner.com download the newest version of that program and run all of the cleaners on it. The cleanup, the registry fixes, everything. MAKE SURE TO DO ALL CLEANERS! Registry is very important here.
Once you have completed that...
Go here: http://www.eset.com/
and download the free trial of NOD32. It picks up viruses on our PC's at work that Norton, McAffee nor AVG pick up, and is the only anti-virus that has finally worked on our computers at work.
Anyway...I've had the same problem at work before I got all the comps NOD32. Tried to run Anti-virus...it wouldn't load or anything, and I just had to clean it up, download C-CLEANER, run all the stuff...fix/delete the registry and then it finally let me run an antivirus and get rid of the weird viruses on the computer.
Do all this and LMK how it works.
ZOMBIE [ibis.a]
If she can't run AVG and can't run SpyDoctor.. not sure *any* program is going to do her any good. Otherwise I'd say start with ComboFix and go from there.
Waiting with baited breath for a report?
Just because I can't get into fucking safe mode doesnt mean I can't use the computer at all.
You're way over analyzing.
and I came HERE because there are a ton of geeks who won't charge me to help.
Understand now?
Like I said before, if you're going to be a dick about this, then fucking don't post.
this is hardly for attention, I can assure you because this is causing me way too much stress.Originally Posted by Vladninja

And even Aco can attest (he went on TeamViewer) to the fact that no antivirus will pop up.
It will install, but when I go to use it, it won't load up.
Any one of you is more than welcome to try if you'd like.
I've done everything but reformat and restore.
which it seems I'm going to have to do...but she has so many goddamn files...

If you're going to talk to people trying to help in that way, then perhaps you should fuck off, and take your computer to Best Buy. I mean, they'll charge you a $100 for doing what we're suggesting for you to do for free. Reading your replies in this thread has disgusted me, so, take an ice pick to your head for all I care.
So you can restart the computer but can't get into safe mode. Never even heard of that happening and I doubt it is possible.
There are plenty of "geeks" on forums specifically for these problems that won't charge you. Hell Dell provides free online customer support with their computers (inb4 FOOK DELL IT SUCKS)
It is hard to understand when you are providing very little for people to help you with. What happens when you restart? Does it give you a chance to go to safe mode? Do you even know how on this computer? What is the procedure when you normally enter safe mode and what does it tell you when you try to do that?
If you want people to understand your "problem" then you need to provide more details. Like, way more than what you have provided. And I am telling you people who do this daily would be a better idea and you don't have to pay for it. I doubt you even looked.
Here is the first link I got from Google: http://www.techsupportforum.com/
Plenty of free sites and people who can help. It is possible the problem you are dealing with has been solved before. You just aren't looking hard enough.
Notice how I'm only replying to Christmas in this manner.
So if you can't help me, please don't spam.
As for you christmas, when I restart the computer and rapidly hit the f8 button to try to get into safemode, and it doesn't even acknowledge it, what am I supposed to do?

Have you tried holding the power button to where it shuts off?
Computers tend to tell you that your computer had an unexpected shut down and gives you a list of options to restart (one of them being safe mode).
And like I said, TAKE THIS INFORMATION TO A GROUP OF PROFESSIONALS WHO ARE BETTER EQUIPPED TO HELP YOU.
Not my fault you don't care to hear the information I am giving you. Just makes your life harder.
