Time for a different med?
That shit never worked when I tried it. Had to get out of the "slump" myself. It'll come and go.

Depression meds are such bullshit. I was on Celexa for awhile until I found out how phony it was, and I just learn to use other things other then medicating myself. If depression runs in your family... there is a way to break it. You just have to find things to break it. Most depression however also comes from your surroundings and life experiences, and if your constantly surrounded by it and it plagues you; I suggest leaving those surroundings quick.

What loka said. I was depressed, and still have my depressive cycles.
The trick is not to think about it. Occupy your mind with things. Programming, gaming, reading, working out, etc etc etc. Keep a positive outlook. Remember, be thankful for what you have and what God has given you... and be thankful you're American and are able to enlist in the USMC -- it's not that easy for some of us.
And yes, even though alcohol is a depressant, it actually relieved some of my stresses.
Everyone gets depressed here and there. Its completely normal. What you do when your depressed can however become very uncommon. Just keep busy as much as you can, the shit will pass eventually.

I just don't see how alcohol helps with anything.
What I do is go for walks, or play with my dog.
Or I call a friend that I haven't talked to in ages.
I'll draw or go take some photos.
Do something to preoccupy your mind so you don't think about the fact that you ARE depressed.
Meds do not work, it's your will to overcome it that works.

i do have to say, booze does work for a bit. it lowers inibitions (sp) but overall it is a cns depressant so it really dosnt work in the overall scheme of things.
i enjoy drinking cuz it allows me to feel feelings and breaks through my usual shield i keep up around myself. so im not saying it dosnt work, but it is not the correct answer. ive delt with depression for almost 5 years now and i am just now seeking help in dealing with it. so for 5 years i have used alcohol as a coping method.... ie i cant say it dosnt work... it just dosnt work overly well...
echo, dude if you think you need help, get help.
