  1. Arrow The new site

    So it is time to start looking for the base theme for the new site. Note that regardless we will be customizing whatever we use to be very similar to how it is now and so what we are looking for is a good jumping point. The new site will integrate the website and the forums together and will make it so I can start publishing articles on the site and get some adds.

    The two designs I am looking at are below they are for preview only and to show where things will be. Note that the background used in any of these will be what we use. The stuff we are going to change is going to be the icons and font color and not really anything else.

    I like the first design. Minus the copperplate font. The second one isn't that bad, but I have a pet peeve with backgrounds that aren't fixed while scrolling down.

    Yea, I would not use that one unless there was a way to keep the background in place.

    There is an HTML code to fix backgrounds... problem is you would have to incorporate it between the image code and the website code.

    <body style="background-attachment: fixed; background-repeat: no-repeat;" background="xxx.jpg">
    is the proper code I believe.

    #2 is cool and if u have cold fusion (I think that's the program) u can make the top layer scroll while the background remains the same or vica versa..

    Bottom line,, use the one that offers the most bang for the buck on the $$$$ side of the spectrum as that's your long term goal anyway.

    I'm sure that after you play around with it that there are mods available that you can adapt to the formating of the site...

    My 2 cents

    Your show, your go..........

    Should be simple as in vb4 all the templets are in full css.

    Oh yeah, that's not an issue. Plenty of CSS codes for fixed background image. Messed around and created plenty of myspace layouts with CSS and background images.

    My only thing is what represents IBIS? Colors certainly represent a community or a clan. If it's black/dark grey and blue like I've seen on the forums, then the first one is appropriate. If a dark hardwood floor theme is what you're looking for, then the second one.
