So looking for a Cheap Laptop for my mothers since shes going back to school. Find myself constantly wanting to get her a Higher end laptop. So i need help in suggestions.
All she will be doing is mainly surfing the web and office programs and may need to use dvd/cd rom drive. Looking to be under 500 but prefer 400 or lower. In other words cheaper the better but I always look for quality as well. Any suggestions for a decent cheap laptop please post

So, I finally got my parts all in and my computer is now back to mint condition. That is, it's a brand new computer, except for the monitor and keyboard/mouse/case.

The processor came from microcenter because it was a lot cheaper to get in the store. I believe this is the one: Core i7-960 3.2GHz LGA 1366

and I switched from vista to windows 7! woot. I have been playing rift on Ultra settings with no problem. I'm so happy! haha.

Xp is a HUGE security hazard right now, also 7 should run faster the XP on anything built in the last 3 years

Yes XP was amazing when it came out, definitely there best OS since 98 SE, but when its such a huge security risk that you need to be downloading a constant stream of new definitions, and even then you still get crap, its time to move on

Anyways Owns, nice new build, although I dont recognize that cooler model number. but what was it that made you choose a 460 SE, as apposed to a 768 or a 1 gig model?

Modified SLIC2 bios, Cert and OEM Key, good to go, completely legit, will always pass WGA / DC Validation.

Well, I didn't choose anything. I know nothing of building computers. That was a direct copy and paste from my newegg invoice. Someone told me what to get and they built it. I don't know their rationale, but they know their stuff.

well there is a reason its called SE, its is a special 460, very very special. XD
Its a gimped 460 basicly, still better then a 450 though
