well, it sounds to me like your power supply might be dying.

i'm no expert, so i'm probably wrong, but it definately sounds like the power supply isn't putting out enough power to run at high load, or w/ 4 sticks ram. either that or your copy of vista randomly degraded itself to the 32-bit version o.O

32 bit windows wont do that,

it could be the PSU, is the computer a prefab with upgraded parts and a stock PSU? that and the degregation of the psu (~5% a year in some cases) could very well do it.

No the computer was completely built inside a case from scratch...not me, obviously lol. im thinkinlg the psu too, but it's hard to believe that that thing is causing all of my issues. it may be a combination of things. just gonna start with the psu and work my way up, but im scared ill end up with non compatibkle parts.

If you were a beautiful sound in the echos all around, I'd be your harmony.

well since she had 4 gb ram, she has a copy of 64-bit vista. and 32 won't run on 4 gb, though i think it's less a crash an more of a "it just won't use 2 gb of it" thing

You can put 16 gigs in and 32bit will work, it just wont recognize it
now a fun hack to do is to put 8 gigs of ram in , and use 4 as the page file, and you now have 8 gigs of ram running in 32 bit

i have troubleshooted the shit out of her computer and it comes up memory error bsod code. Some siimilar issues had compared to her had a 8800gt graphics card which she has and the memory of the graphic could possible cause the problem but i have no way of testing that theory for her since there is no onboard VGA.....

So im currently at a lost to figure out what to do at the moment I always have spare parts to to test with but i cant do that for owns..... only other thing i no of is to modify the cd and make a copy with updated service packs and drivers.... or take aout all the extra devices in her pc and try again ........

Really you proablyl need to get a new pc owns.......... or you can install Linux I guess
