Recent moderator actions have prompted new regulations for how it will be used from now on.
The following are now part of the rules regarding mod powers:
Moderators are not allowed to use their power on any post or thread that has anything to do with them. Likewise involved parties are not allowed to moderate. Only moderators who have no stake or relation to the post or thread will be allowed to moderate it.
Moderators must be respectful even when in the forums. Moderators are supposed to be examples for the rest of the community and therefore will be held to higher standards.
Moderators who do not use their power appropriately will be punished in the following way: publicly warned, probation and finally removal of powers either for some sections or for the entire forums.
Once again these new rules are now in effect and a mod will add them to the official rules soon.
As for NYS and Dual it has been their actions that have prompted this rule change and they have caused a lot of problems as a result. As you all know I am not one to quickly slam down the hammer so no they will not be losing mod powers. They are however automatically placed on the probation stage and currently with no power restrictions. If they have any incidents from here on they will be losing some or all mod powers.
Lastly I would like to end by stating that mod powers are now to be used again in all areas. Moderators should now begin to moderate the forums again appropriately.
Also as always moderator is a privilege if you do not wish to be held to its standards then you are free to request that your powers be removed.
