why would they. it's not an American or even a north american sport. it's never been highly supported in the states or Canada.

soccer is literally the rest of the worlds sport. almost every other country plays it religiously. as where Canadians are all about hockey, and America has always been hardcore into football, baseball and basketball.

Remember at one point the U.S. did defeat England and it was back in 1950 I believe. But no one cared at the time. They are trying to reintroduce the game into the U.S. but they need powerful results from the Worl Cup which ain't happening.

Clearly you are forgetting about US taking down the #1 seeded team in the world in the last confederation cup. They ran commercials in Spain saying no country that calls it soccer instead of football will ever take down the Spanish giant, and how they would never respect anyone who called it soccer.
