All phones that are not using Verizon or sprint for example are GSM. If it is not CDMA it is GSM. If it is on AT&T it is GSM.

This issue is actually heard quite often but you may not even realize that it is being caused by a phone. If you have ever sat in a class room with speakers for example and hear that morose code like sound come out of the speakers that is it.

Even if it does not break your speaker and electronic equipment it can permanently damage it and effect the sound quality permanently.
