When did I get a 30" screen. My crts are still kicking (thank god) otherwise I would be looking at a $3000+ bill
Yesterday I placed the big newegg order. So now 85% of the budget has been spent and all of the required parts are ordered! The other 15% of the budget will be charged soon and it includes the cooling for the gpu along with some mods that were supposed to have been included in version 1. I have also thrown in a cheep upgrade for my tv pc from a 9500 to a 220. This will greatly improve the quality of video playback.
Well it should come as no suprize that there was problems. It turns out that my second loops pump has a cut wire due to the way that it is transported. The pump will need to be replaced and the entire second loop rebuilt. Luckily it currently does not cool anything and so I will just remove it and continue the build and hopefully be back soon.
So after 6 hours my raid initialized and was ready for format now it if formatting and that should take about 6 hours rofl. Luckily I started it a few hours ago so it is at 75%.
Once it is done I can copy all the files off my 2tb drive which should take about 3 hours. Then I can format that drive in about an hour. Then add it to the existing array which should take 2 hours and then expand the partition in windows which should take about 2 hours. So it will be all ready in about, 9-12 more hours. Then I can update the firmware on my SSD twice to get to the latest version and then reinstall windows and then reinstall all my programs.
So the good news is just about 20 hours until this dam upgrade is 50% complete. Yes you read that correctly 50% complete. The rest of the build will continue after a 2 week break back at school where the following will be done:
Add an additional 2tb to the array (when the DOA drive is replaced)
Redesign the 2nd cooling loop
Upgrade QDs on 2nd cooling loop
Install GPU water block
Reinstall the 2nd cooling loop
Install all HDD fault led extensions for future expansion
Finish sleeving all unfinished wires.
Replace faulty external temp sensors
Install additional fan filters
Enjoy a toast to a completed project.
