It is like saying "I Love You", or "Bless You" or even "Sorry"...

Ones first response is to ignite a "catch phrase" searching for social acceptance, and positive acknowledgement...

an acknowledgement of a friendly person... that is acceptable...

an acknowledgement of a job well done... that is acceptable...

but an acknowledgement for a "I am sorry"... that is a plea... a plea for forgiveness... but should we forgive someone for acting out, just because they apologize...? What if we forgave the terrorist, if they would simply apologize...? No... we would expect to visually see the changes they made, but we would still never forgive them...

And being form a 4 generation military family I can say this...

A real veteran doesn't apologize for anything... My father IS a Veteran, twice over... and with all the mistakes he has made... No, he has not apologized for anything he does... My grandfather was worse than him and according to family records it was the same with my grandfather's father...

You must "think" you are a veteran, are maybe you are one of those 3-5 month newbies who could handle being ordered around, or worse dishonorable discharged...
