New to Anime...well...sorta

ahhhh.

i've had bad experiences w/ ova's. namely hellsing. they fucking ruined that series with hellsing ultimate

there are a lot of fantastic ova's

flcl *fooly Cooly* is one of the most well known ovas in america as well

also Legend of the Galactic Heroes was an OVA set

hellsing ultimate is uhhh....yah whatever you make of it lol

One thing you may like, which wasn't mentioned yet, is Samurai Champloo. Very fun series with good animation, an interesting style, and some fun music.

Great point totally forgot about that one, he would enjoy it as well.
