When it comes to PvP, gear should never outweigh skill. Whether it's in rotation, ability prep, stat prep, movement, speed of key presses, strategic knowledge, etc...

I never understood why some people view "I played this game for years, I got all this cool stuff, so I should win every time," as the end-all be-all in MMO games. I can understand it to an extent, you know, some gear giving slightly better stats if you spent years to get it, but not an exponential increase. And why should vertical gear progression even be considered in PvP in an MMO?

Yeah yeah, "if you want skill-based competition go play a FPS", that argument is soooooo 1999, when PKing was actually worth something. Times change, and I hope most developers follow this content progression idea in the future. I know Funcom is already going the same route with Secret World.

Maybe NCSoft will do the same with Wildstar!

Gets me all moist thinking about it.
