Played a lot of this game today. Its sooooo good. It has its little things that bug me like...armor doesnt look as good as id like..but its made up for in uniquely fun gameplay and world experiences. The graphics are aaaaaaaaahhhhaaaaammaaaazing. It is cerainly going to be my pasttime, for sure. Im very sad that in 1 short day, it will all be but a memory.

things i'm disappointed in:
- dodging system. it's nice...but needs something more. i'm thinking mike tyson's punch-out.
- dynamic bosses. great idea, needs some kind of system that makes you incorporate strategy. i hate bringing this game up but in wow, bosses will let out emotes for special attacks, and its a cue to get the fuck out of the way or you will be raped. i'm thinking something similar for these dynamic bosses, and some other aspect that requires teamwork instead of just a massive zergfest.
- character customization. it's pretty good, but just needs a liiiiiiiittle more in my opinion
- lag? i can't tell if its lag or not but i swear there's some delay in everything i do...just makes everything feel clunky. especially with...
- transforming into an animal. awesome idea, but MAN OH MAN the combat and movement is soooo very clunky. definitely needs work
- casting animations. looked beyond epic in the preview vids, not so much in-game. not grand enough, not enough particle effects around the player, just not enough feel for my taste
just thought of one more thing. i was thinking about an event mikey described earlier, where he had to fend off a bunch of baddies and defend their towers or whatever. they failed, and then had to send people to rebuild the towers. that's cool, i see the effect there, but wouldnt it be awesome if for those towers, they had like 5 different models? so each time that event occurs, if you lose and the towers are destroyed, they're rebuild and look different. now that's REALLY having an effect on the world around you.

The dynamic bosses dont need more gooshy shit to make it better. They way it is makes it tough, i can assure you that a few weeks after release day, you wont have 10,000 people in one server all level one for a stress test beta..... It makes it more difficult when you dont have cast bars and stuff. you react to the bosses movements, i.e. when he beckons his head and screechs, that means he is summoning portals and smashing his jaw on the ground for you to attack. i dont need a skill bar to know when there are red enemy aoe circles on the ground, this game requires some level of situational awareness beyond just starting at some UI.
The Quality isnt that great, and my recorded only records 2 hours, this 5 min vid being between 1:55:00 and 2:00:00. I didnt get the last half. Its my first vid!!!! it will only get better720p change it to that!
now to expand on your disappoints brett.
-customization: There is 80 lvls of gear and outfits before reaching max gear, we are talking about a game that has everything from pirate outfits, like the one in my previous screen shots, to tonics that turn you in to a variety of mobs. They even have cute little minis!
Clunky feel would be contributed to the following two reasons: 1. You were probably not in an overflow zone server, resulting in hundreds of other people being there (server lag). 2. The beta Comp requirements were CPU heavy, not GPU. Your CPU was doing most of the work. the super secret 3rd reason. its is a beta for a game that has yet to release a launch date, they have much more work to do.
Dodging worked perfectly fine for me, the only part i didnt like was that i was used to vindictus dodging, not guild wars lol. you sure you were not clipping your dodges on enemies or trees?

Personal reform
I have no problem with the combat system. I'm finding regular mob fights very challenging at times and that is a GOOD THING. It's refreshingly hard at times.
The one major disappointment I have right now is that Sin and I always play in a group, and with the "Overflow server" system in place..it's a pain trying to get into the same one..a little annoying but once pop spreads out after launch should be no problem.
