Thats the best part about GW2...
Not only do you not have to pay month to month but... there is virtually little grind, you choose to either spend countless hours, or not. This is done several ways, including the most important, Gem system.
In GW2 you are as good as you play, not as good as your gear dictates.

Allot of good friends say that too, I still keep contact with some guilds I used to play with trough ventrilo or teamspeak, So the test drives are going to make me convince that I will play it or not. Just still not sure if I'm ready to play mmo's again thou.

Lol at Mikey not knowing anything about WoW before Blizzard ruined it. Vanilla was for the pros, everything since late-BC patches / WotLK release has been free epics. Which is why I don't play anymore. I was never big on WoW PvP, because it's just a constant shift between which class is overpowered this patch (which will then be underpowered next patch).
We'll see if GW2 manages to hold my attention better than the original. The only thing I ever really had fun doing in GW was running people to places, because you just ran around really fast, and who doesn't like that. PvP was meh. Okay at first, got old fast. I hope GW2 does something to make the PvP more engaging than the original, because I like it conceptually, and I want to like playing it, I just didn't last time around.
I'm not saying any other RPG does it better, by the way. I'm still waiting for an RPG to provide the level of fun in PvP that LoL does. I'm not sure it's possible. Perhaps I just like the MOBA genre better for PvP. Looking forward to checking out Smite, but that's another thread.
My level of knowledge in regards to WoW, derives from a 2 hours play session about 5 years ago when i concluded the game was complete shit. This is a GW2 thread, not a thread for WoW fanboys to come in and say how there shit game is better.... GW2 isnt even released yet lol
On a side note, i honestly think you will enjoy the PVP system in GW2. Organized pvp AND world pvp. As far as the world pvp goes, Guilds and alliances will and can own property which at any point in time can be assaulted by not just mobs but other alliances ect. i get squirmish everytime i think about the pvp.

serious? you played a MMO for 2 hours and figured that was a good time 2 judge it? Lol... k?
from what I've read on GW2.. it seems like they are trying 2 make it even more user friendly by having the pvp require really require no invested time 2 be any good....
having it based on gear rewards those who go balls 2 the walls and play hard... and that's how any RPG or MMORPG should be set up....
I dunno... will see what the final product is like... but I have a big feeling that GW2 is going 2 be about is good as GW1 was... lots of people liked it, but it didn't give any real MMORPG a run for it's money in any shape or form...
