I have figured out how to change the colors on the home page but it will not let me change them for articles without changing the forums too. Basically the articles should inherit the style used by the section they are in but they do not.

OK, I figured it out. Apparently you just got to clear the cms cache and then it works.

From what I have now you should understand the general direction I am going with the home page. Note that I am not going to change the layout right now so please just post what you think about the style that is being used.

why not leave the way it was as a selectable skin? because it looked absolutely fine as it was

When actual content starts to be added it will be easier to read against white.
