Tape will work until I get a set of G35's.

Since I really only use headphones for gaming I've been using cheap 10-20$ ones for years. Maybe spent a total of 50-60 bucks over 5 years.

I would have to agree with the others that well buying refurbished isn't really saving money per say, but on another note I have a logitech g930 wireless gaming headset my self and I have to agree with your statement that it has improved my gaming experience compared to the free plantronics headset that I had before
