Chatbox or shoutbox for Sidebar on Site?

I think it'd be pretty snazzy to add a shoutbox to the sidebar, that way we don't have to always have a thread going on for us to keep in touch.

I have always loved shout box features on forums.
Or hell we could make an IRC so people could join in with out having to be on the forums

Part of the problem is that it that most hosts do not allow you to run or have anything to do with irc....

So if we were to have one it could not be integrated in any way with the site or servers.
