This is obvious abuse.

That being said; if my word from gg is worth anything this is NOT what I see to be the type of malicious abuse that should break anyone from our community.

Yes, I do believe that a stat reset is in order, I believe that a selective power strip should be considered before damning him as a member of the community. He made a mistake and seems to be deep in regret of said mistake, which makes me think that his mistake is something that should be punished with a keen paddle as opposed to him being banished and hated for this.

I care about my stats on gg, and if someone were to revive me just to kill me and level, I'd be a bit peeved, but it doesn't seem to be as malicious as that, he saw a creative way to abuse as fun and maybe it would be for a few people, but I think that we should look at the intentions too.

After reading maynard's reaction, I'm led to believe that this was not an isolated incident. That factors in and shakes my previous opinion (mentioned above) but I do think a level head is in order to handle a situation like this.

And I understand that, Maynard. But at the same time, this is human nature, there are a LOT of people that do not know how to handle power. But from a member's perspective, I also see someone that was just like us that couldn't handle the step up in the manner this community expects. His actions are his fault, his nature is not. I think we've learned a HUGE lesson about him, I think that we also have an opportunity to save the child in a sense.


Just to be clear, I don't think he should ever hold admin in this community again. I don't think he should keep his stats. I don't think he should be able to continue playing tomorrow as if nothing happened, but I also don't think that he deserves, in this incident, to be shoved out of the community altogether.

theres has been a lot who don't know how 2 handle power that is no excuse. he failed as an admin, tried 2 hide it and above all was supporting it 2 those who weren't even admin..... he's a snake, clearly can't be trusted and should be removed from the community. even he said that he's leaving and is aware how fucked up what he did was, so why you're tyring 2 defend it is beyond me.

you can't even try and claim the average person anything... cause we have a shit ton of admins and he's the only 1 pulling this shit. I don't deny we have other admins who are a pain in the ass and do abuse... but 2 abuse and exploit certain maps and glitches 2 move up the ranking system are 2 diff things, and it's a complete joke.
there's many who spend a shit load of their time working for proper rankings.... and these clowns wana just cheat there way up the system? Fuck that...

Zero JUST made a post in WCS about how lvl farming will not be tolerated.... it's not diff on any other server... cheating your way up the ranking is beyond not tolerated... and literally 1 of the worst things you can do in this community

Oh I agree with you, that he's a fucked up person, Maynard. When I posted those, I was, first, under the false belief that this was an isolated incident, second, under the belief that he was apologetic for his actions.

Seeing those stat jumps, and knowing, now that he did it like that, well that pisses me off too. I've worked long and hard on my gg stats, even took a screenshot when a 5 game winning streak took me to 5th place and made a thread about it. If someone in gg were to do something similar, I'd be unbelievably pissed.

I would also like to state that this exploit was discovered on the day in question and had never been used prior. I would also like to clarify with maynard that i could not in fact hear most of what blade was saying, through no fault of his mic, but because of the server in general, as it appears the demo does not support this claim, you may feel free to ask anyone who regularly plays in that server that at any given time there are instances where some people can not clearly hear others as the audio stream becomes choppy and incoherent, hence why on multiple occasions while blade was trying to explain to me the situation I was asking him to type it out.

Why do so many people care about stats? They seriously don't mean anything. They certainly don't mean your the best player in the world/server or something. In my opinion, stats are just worthless and pointless. But, in the other hand, some people actually care about stats, which is fine because then there can be some competition. But when someone takes competition and just takes it way to fucking seriously, it just ruins the fun part of the game. Just giving my thoughts.

I'm a little offended you guys would outright permban me without checking on my side of this sordid tale.

I wasn't even aware this was a major issue. I joined during that map with the daft punk sounds (NOT predator as psychostats states, because psychostats doesn't always immediately apply points during the current game) and Naked mentioned that he had been earning a shitpile of points from kills, I asked him how he was doing it and what map, and he mentioned that Hey! Look! There's an AFK over there! Check it out, Ness! Go knife 'em! and so I did, and then a large number of points were obtained not just by myself but probably 6-7 other people that aren't mentioned in the OP post. It didn't really occur to me that this wasn't OK.. I wasn't really thinking. I had just taken a final for one of my summer courses and I was a bit burnt out. A minute or so after the orgy of zombie point gathering, Naked explained that he had the power to change players from zombie to human at will. Which means these are admin-related abuses, not map glitches or player exploits. I caused none of this. Then he said that he only tried this sort of stuff out on AFK's and that he was doing pretty well rank-wise with this system.

We went to Predator, Naked did the same thing. I didn't play much in Predator because hl2.exe kept crashing (), but I remember spec'ing and seeing Naked obviously switch zombies to human in the player cage towards the end of the map resulting in another 6-7 person orgy of zombie point gathering. I wasn't involved in this one I think. Like I said, the points that show up in Psychostats for this map were actually obtained in the previous map and applied during this map. Then we went to stargate escape, I played normally for a while, Naked did the same thing again on one of the AFK's, Blade showed up, party ended.

I'd also like to point out that before playing with Saturday yesterday that I wasn't even aware this sort of exploitation could be done or was possible. It was all news to me when Naked mentioned it. I was basically a naive participant in all of this.

This is actually the truth, not sure why you guys are calling Naked out on this point. We all know the ZM server has issues, and if you check the server logs Naked did ask Blade to type things out, and I was having the same audio problem on my end.

And I'd like to go ahead and point out that you're all acting a bit butthurt over this. Calling us scum and snakes and horrible, terrible people, how we're lying that we couldn't hear Blade over mic, how we deserve to be permbanned etc. On the one hand you tell Naked to act like a better admin and have respect for the community and the system, and on the other hand you're forming a lynchmob and throwing tantrums over a relatively minor and easily reversible offense. I expect better from all of you. You have the logs right there of the point value changes over the day from psychostats, so just deduct the points that were obviously earned through exploitation and this whole debacle is settled.

I'm not sure about Naked, but I've been playing with you guys for years, and I even admin'd with you guys for a while. I never abused my admin powers when I had them (despite what a couple of forum threads may argue), and up until now I've never exploited the point system for psychostats in any way. I'd like to think I've been a good enough player for long enough that this mess -- which was not even directly caused by me -- can be amended and we can go back to the way things were. I'm a good player. Naked is a good player but maybe not the best admin. But it just seems so strange to me to permban good players.

And believe it or not, I did earn my pre-Naked rank of 49 entirely through legitimate kills as a player through casual, honest gameplay over a year or so, without exploits, and I'm kinda proud of that.

These stats are just flat out ridiculous. Both knowing completely what they did and continuing to do so just isn't right. This was less to do with glitch and more to do with straight up admins abuse and stat manipulation. There is no excuse for this at all.
