Anyway, he obviously had a misunderstanding of the rules, but was never told that it was against the rules.

That's why I'm posting in defense of the whole clarity clause.

i understand the rules, i know they exist for specific reasons, but i do feel a perma ban is excessive and this is why:

it's an easy thing to fix. just uninstall the skins. now the rule has been specifically and explicitly described and a point made. it seems to me that Slipstream was not KNOWINGLY and PURPOSEFULLY gaining an advantage through these skins, and i believe that part in the rule (knowingly and purposefully gaining an advantage through the use of skins) is implicit in the definition of the rule. accidental breaking of the rules should never be punished by anything more than a slay in my opinion, but a repeat offender displays deliberation in the rulebreaking activity, and in that case such a penalty as an extended/perma ban would be necessary. i don't know what this player has done in the past, and i'm not taking that into consideration. however from what i have seen on here, i think a perma ban is excessive. i know i haven't been here the longest, i know my input probably doesn't mean shit, but i had an opinion and i thought i'd share it.

@Slipstream: the models do give you an advantage over other players, whether you intend it in such a way or not. you should uninstall player skins for that reason, simply for fair competition. i would rather get shot by a teammate every now and then instead of having a guy obtain an advantage over me through the use of skins and i think 99% of the population here and elsewhere would agree.

Hmmm, normally my threads get locked right away, and also don't get so many replies so fast either.

This is the first time my skins have ever been an issue on any server that I play on, and I tell everyone about them. The only advantage I have is finding out that lowering my resolution increased my fps dramatically. My aim is still bad, plus the radar shows where my team is anyway, and that helps prevent team attacking more than my skins.

Even IF for some hypothetical reason it would be found that the skins you changed weren't giving you an advantage, I think that a perma-ban in the case of Slipstream is still warranted, especially after showing the way he treats Clan members in this thread, and also for the multiple moments of admin disrespect. IMO, slipstream is a plague on the IBIS servers and seemingly is only here to cause problems.

No offense to you on a personal level Slipstream, but 3/4 of the threads you made for admin abuse threads, and other threads for that matter, are due to you receiving some form of punishment because you were unable to use the rules to your favor. To me, you saying that you weren't using these altered skins for your own advantage is inconsistent with the way you have acted previously, and from that I would conclude that they ARE advantageous to you in some way, even if you won't say so explicitly.

Just hopped onto a Dogz gungame server, my skins don't work, hmmmm, forced skin use. So instead of a lame ass rule which can't be enforced at all unless you have a screenshot like mine, how about changing the server to use custom human models, same with the gg server, then there is no issue at all.

I have custom footstep sounds that last 30 seconds, and all my walls are textured to glass, will this be a problem?
