I couldn't believe it. I kind of understand about doing it to save the kid. I never thought he would do something like that. Crazy episode.

He did it to save himself, the thought of the kid came next. IE: The look back and taking of the backpack.

Both themselves and the kid would of died if he didn't.

This comes down to ones own look on good or bad (evil)...

Was it evil to kill one to save two?

Would you have sacrificed yourself to have the other two live?

The other guy was more fit and probably would have lasted longer on that run and in future fights for survival.

Survival of the fittest, be it brains or brawn, always has been that way, always will.

Morales tend to lack in a survival situation. You would be better off going primal and losing your sense or morality's.

I think the "farmer's daughter" is going to cause some problems though. If you saw the preview and this episode, Herschel seemed to pick up on it and didn't like it.
