If validly defending myself and content causes me to lose respect with some then there's a problem with their definition of respect. You give respect to get respect and if not, you don't initially disrespect someone because you don't know them. You haven't technically disrespected me so I don't disrespect you. Same goes for scribble and anyone other than acolyte. Acolyte on the other hand likes to non-constructively criticize and make it obvious that he's being sarcastic, which is already obvious. If he had a concern he could have just asked because I'm more than willing to explain as much as I can.
And the clan app thing was me having fun. It was misinterpreted, I get that. That was my fault since no one personally knows me or my personality so I can see that it would sound like I'm "blowing up my ego". Being a well-respected member of a community doesn't make it ok to be a dick to others, especially new people who they don't know well enough and who are willing and trying to be participants of that community.
I'll respect people that haven't given me a reason to do otherwise.

They haven't directly mentioned imo.im but that's normal for a non-official service that offers an integrated experience like IMO does. For example, RIM doesn't mention every BlackBerry app that gets put on their App World store same as Android doesn't mention the apps that offer a similar experience with access to Steam content.
I guess it's up to you whether you'd be willing to entrust your accounts with IMO's encryption. There's always going to be a risk as scribble pointed out with Facebook and I pointed out with the PSN getting hacked. I guess it comes down to the pros/cons of using such a service but I love it.
Since I've contacted IMO as press I can ask how they tap into Steam's network if you'd like...?
