Thread: mouse replacement

  1. Default mouse replacement

so i'm thinking about replacing my old mouse (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826104210), it's always been a little awkward in my hand but i've just dealt with it. anywho i've narrowed it down to a few choices:
this, i love the price (money is an object), but i'm worried about the unknown brand and it being TOO cheap, and the button problems (see 3 star reviews).

this, worried about the ergonomics but i DO have fairly large hands. another negative is 4 buttons instead of 5, but thats no biggie.

    this,
which i like because i do play some WoW with the gf, but i'm afraid it may be overkill, and bad for cs

orrrrr should i just bite a few extra bucks and go with this, from a trusted brand and such.

i've actually never bought a mouse. all have been hand-me-downs from my bro so yeah any input would be helpful. i'm trying to keep it under $40 but if i go a little over for something stellar, thats alright

This is my mouse, granted it may be out of your specified price range but I've had mine for 2 years and I'm not thinking of replacing it for a long time.

Nothing but good things to say for it.

Granted only 1 review may make it iffy. Otherwise I'd go with the Razor you had posted. A lot of the reviews for some of the other mouses were kinda scary.

I had a Razer Lachesis for a long time, have a Lycosa keyboard that works like a fucking dream still.

The Lachesis sorta just crapped out, however when it worked it was the best mouse I ever owned, tad expensive by Razer products are worth it.

ALSO have a Razer headset that I've been using forever as well. The only problem I have with that is sound seems to bleed into my mic even if it's not around my neck like it can occasionally be. But other than that sound quality is great, stereo sound that has helped me seek out the heavier footed nubs in my time and a quality mic that should sound crystal clear if you have no feedback.

I now have a Logitech marathon, 40 bucks is a great price for a 3 year battery life and gaming precision laser. Also wireless... and the leave in USB receiver is like as big as a penny... and can be stored in the mouse's battery compartment... did I mention it has like 8 mappable buttons ? and also a "Hyper scroll wheel" that is pretty much just a free spinning mouse wheel that you can toggle on and off good for scrolling on big documents and long ass webpages.

Only problems I've had with it is when I dropped it and the left mouse button popped out of it's base, causing it to miss-click and interfere with the other mouse button. Fixed it by simply lifting it gently and placing it re-centered on top of it's little rubber button base.

you'll have to try really hard to sell me on wireless. i don't like a super light mouse but the wireless ones i've felt are just too damn heavy, and in the past i've experienced input lag among other input problems, plus i'm not inconvenienced by a wire so i just don't see the point in putting up with all that.

and @devour...last optical i had was a logitech mx310, which was probably the best overall mouse i ever owned. however my brother's had issues, and the optical i had before that did this weird thing where it'd look straight up and spin in circles for a few seconds if i tried to turn too fast in cs or CoD. i actually got a steam account banned for a few weeks because of it, until i appealed. loving laser though.

I use a Mionix Naos 3200 Here. It's a pretty good mouse except that it's software doesn't work in x64 for Windows 7.

There is a newer version that uses a laser instead of optical though it is out of your price range. Here
