I wouldn't even really say it's religion (such a broad term anyway), belief in anything opposite or conflicting of another will cause conflict. It's all a matter of how many people with the same type of belief get together and start shit. Been around since the dawn of humanity, wont ever go away. Trivial shit really, but it's just one of those small hardcoded things in all of our brains that make us go bat shit crazy at times. No one is immune, we all do it, just at different extremes.
