Well yeah, I understand that the gravitational pull of a black hole essentially works the same as a planet / solar mass but if anything does get too close it will be sucked in as is obvious with all the research thus far. But say something happens to affect our orbit (like maybe the possible collision course our galaxy is on with the Andromeda galaxy, if the planet as we know it even survives the process) it could send the planet into a no-trespassing zone around the black hole granted another large mass doesnt pull us in before we reach the center of the galaxy. Now I know we're talking billions of years from now but yeah like I said in my last post it wouldnt happen (if ever) in any of our lifetimes. The human race will most likely kill itself off in less than 1/10000th of that time anyways.
Like I said its a loooooooooong-shot but that's exactly the point I was trying to make. We're like self-sustaining sperm trying to find the universal uterus before we burn out our energy reserves.
