and farm away
@jwtemp
Not sure how this really brings in hope... the games issues were hardly the AH.... it was inferno mode, drop rates etc....
Also very surprised 2 see blizzard walking away from free money.... that's not like them lol.

Sorry, I always completely forget there are threads for these things.
Yes, the AH was only part of the problem, but removing the AH entirely necessitates that they change exactly what you're talking about, hence 'Loot 2.0' as they've already discussed. With the removal of the AHs, the nail is in the coffin for the 'pay to play' model Diablo 3 was adhering to previously and will now be once again 'kill monsters and get phat loot,' AKA exactly what kept Diablo 2 players playing ten years later.
By they way, they added PVP in a patch several months ago.Although I never played it as I pretty much quit after it was clear the current state of Diablo III was nothing more than a stupid lottery system.
I guess I'm just really excited to see Blizzard hasn't completely succumbed to Activision and there's still at least a glimmer of the former magnificence that was the former Blizzard that remains.
I went back and re-read this thread from the beginning because I can't stop being excited about these impending changes. It's funny to look back actually and watch everyone's excitement start building in January 2012, with everyone saying they can't wait to get their hands on the game. Then the game drops, server issues abound and there's some complaining and raging, which is to be expected. Then everyone really gets into the meat of the game, gets through the semi-difficult Hell mode that shipped with the game, hits Inferno...
Annnnnnd that's it. Around the end of May 2012, this thread dies. No one talks about the game basically at all after hitting the bullshit brick wall that was the original implementation of Inferno.
It's interesting to me that you all shared exactly the same experience as I did when playing this game. Bloody fucking fun until you reach the end game, then you realize you're doing nothing more than playing an auction house simulator with occasional resource collection (AKA farming act three Halls of Agony) for the purposes of maybe getting an up once every fifteenth play session, and only EVER from the Auction House. I loved my wizard, some of the builds were just unbelievably fun to play, but the rewarding aspect of Diablo was completely removed by the greedy cash grab that was the AH, which caused the game design to wrap itself around a hollow concept and completely fail.
Fuck the AH. Fuck the RMAH. Fuck Blizzard's original design philosophy with this game. I am as excited about the removal of the AH and the RMAH and for Reaper of Souls as I was for D3, and by golly, you best not fuck this up Blizz.
As for your gold finding gear ZERO, I like to think of March 18th 2014 as the day Diablo 3 is actually going to come out. I look forward to a 'reset to zero' personally.![]()
inferno was fixed like over a year ago

If by 'fixed' you mean 'nerfed' I agree. But nerfing Inferno to make it easier to complete and not fixing/ignoring the problems with the end game was a complete waste of time imo. We'll see if these changes bring D3 to what it should have been in May 2012, AKA a sequel to D2.
inferno is only easy 2 complete if you set it 2 a monster power level that's low. You choose how hard it is.... obviously though the harder you go the better the drops.
might check it out on console... everything I'm reading online basically says the console version shit kicks the PC version.
