Q.Q I need to withdraw. My GFs friend who spilt coffee on my computer about 8 months ago finally killed it (rust on the MoBo, and some corrosion on the RAM connections [which cleaned off decently well]. Anyway, I replaced the MoBo, and I'm still not getting any beep codes. I'll be testing my PSU tomorrow, and if it isn't that, it'd be the CPU. I'm a bit strapped for cash, and I doubt the local place has the parts I need (albeit they are fairly old components) for any less then twice the price on newegg. We shall see however. I'd say most likely a 5-10% chance of actually having a working computer before monday.
Unless any of you are close to cumberland, MD and have an extra compy with a decent framerate I can use. I'd play on this lappy, but 15-20 FPS will not really cut it >.>
Nah, she hadn't visited in a long time and she had come over to have a few drinks. Only when she got there, she was strung out (her bf, who was with her, had apparently gotten her on coke) and was already smashed. She was falling over drunk and she and her bf started fighting about 3 minutes after getting there. She had put her coffee absent mindedly on my desk (I was out making drinks) and she fuckin tripped over her own two feet, toppled into my desk, and her coffee fell on my computer. Needless to say, I gave them the boot (they should be glad I didn't toss them out a window). I cleaned my computer the best I could, and miraculously my computer booted up after two days. Sadly, when it died and I opened it up, the MoBo had some pretty bad rust on it, and I literally had to pry the RAM out with a flathead screwdriver. The CPU looked okay, and the PSU seemed to power everything (I don't own a voltmeter or a PSU tester sadly), but no beep codes FTL. Got the new mobo today, switched it out, and no dice, beep codes still failed. I opened up the PSU and cleaned the dust out, I don't see scorch marks or anything, and nothing smells funny, but who knows. I guess I'll find out tomorrow >.> Maybe it is the PSU and I can get a new one for kinda cheap maybe.
so? who are the captains?
