The point of a lobbyist is to discuss a side of an issue a politician has not taken into account. If they were there simply to fuck people over, they wouldn't be allowed to exist.

They're not just in politics either. They work in hospitals as pharmaceutical sales reps. They work in infrastructure as contract lobbyists. They're EVERYWHERE.

Now that you understand how they work, maybe you'll understand that the influence Michelle Obama gave Mars is nothing new. This is a move they've decided to make and the political spin you and anyone else are trying to put on it is simply ludicrous.

There's one candidate running for president that doesn't entertain lobbyists (hint, its not Obama or any other Democrat). The government has a single fucking job: work for it's people. It is suppose to be for the people, not a subset of those people - and the only thing we all have in common is a desire to not be enslaved by a foreign power or killed by some sociopath bastard - everything else is some degenerate piece of shit stepping on people to gain votes of a larger majority because they themselves have no god damn potential - just look at Obama's fundraising goal for 2012: 1 Billion dollars. What does a Billion dollars go towards? Manipulating people into voting for someone that will sell them out for far fucking more.
