so i'm looking to upgrade my shitty $70 wal-mart guitar. picked out a model made in korea that has a really good reputation despite being a knockoff, great value for the money. i'm a little torn when it comes to the appearances though, between these two in particular.

I like the knobs on the blue one. However for overall apperence I prefer the red one.

that's exactly what i was thinking...leaning towards blue for those knobs so that's why my vote's there for the time being.

I prefer the red to the blue.
You can always buy after market knobs that you like and put them on the red guitar.

I notice that the nobs on the red one do not go up to 11.

iiiiinteresting. fuck you all, you're making my decision harder. lol
They look cheap.
Cheap will always look cheap no matter how good of a knock-off. The only way you can stop cheap from looking cheap is to buy a legit name brand on sale... than its a good looking cheap.

i have a budget. the best quality guitar i can get within this budget is in front of you, sale or not.
plus they both look a trillion times better than what i have now -.-

red, buy new knobs, upgrade the pickups. less than a namebrand on sale and will sound great.

this.
do what scribble just said.
OR buy the invisible one to the right.
I bought a blue one similar to this for my kid bro a couple weeks back in anticipation for christmas... (yes... wallmart...), still looked "aesthetically" good enough.

I like the blue one better but i think a black guitar with blue and red flames on it would look cooler :)

do you want me to spraypaint "I'm A TOOOOOOL" on it too?
so i read more into it, and decided to go against most of you and get the blue. the necks on these guitars are pretty thin so getting the wider option is good for a noob like me. plus i have fucking gorgeous blue eyes and that thing will make them pop when serenading my woman.
Yo you need to hook dat piece up wiff some pink and white stringers, throw a bell on dat muthafucka and fuck it up wiff some jinglejangles get dat shit lookin' tighter than a wetbacks grip on their kids while dey swim across da border.

you get what you pay for. a cheap Korean guitar is hardly an upgrade from a shitty walmart guitar.
If you had half a brain, you would purchase a lower end fender with decent pick-ups and not focus on having a guitar that's a replica of a decent one... cause at the end of the day... it's not. And if you're not professional musician... what your guitar looks like doesn't matter in the slightest... nor does it overly even if you are.

Yes but why spend so much money on a guitar that he's going to light on fire after a performance?
This is going to be Brett after his purchase.

well you can go ahead and have your own opinion then, that's fine by me. just cuz I'm not a professional painter doesn't mean i want all the paintings in my house to look like shit. and if you read up on those guitars they're really good quality for the money, and i prefer the tone of lp's (even knockoff) to that of a strat or tele. i don't see why you have to come into a fun thread and just stomp on it like a schoolyard bully by tossing around insults. do they teach Canadians courtesy any more?
@ chikun, fuck yeh.

Are you stupid our something. I'm telling you what will give you far better sound quality for a bit more in price. Pretty sure that's nice and courteous
Looks don't matter sound quality does.... That's not an opinion its common sense

actually unless you're a professional musician, playability matters. how good it feels. no matter how much you spend it's not gonna sound really good unless the player's really good, which i'm not, and then you need a kickass amp, which i'm not paying for. so basically none of your arguments make any sense, and these do actually sound very good for the price, and feel excellent. have a little faith in me that i've done my homework...i've done it plenty enough when it comes to hackers so why not guitars too? and what's not nice and courteous is coming in here and telling me what to do "if you had half a brain."
and i do want it to look pretty. i wanna look at it and say damnnn that's pretty, not damnnnn that's some nice two-ply pine from that there home depot it is

I own six guitars and have played for ten years.....what would i know though lol
If you're not getting An amp you should get a cheaper acoustic like a lower end ibanez.
Those cheap foreign guitars don't last long and break down real easy.
If you plan on regularly playing and getting decent, don't but a cheap piece of shit...
If you want to take the advice of someone who actually plays and knows what they are talking about negatively, go for it. Just trying to help you not make a purchase you'll regret.

the piece of shit i've had has lasted 4 years without a single problem aside from looking, feeling, and sounding like shit. it keeps its tune well, havent broken a string or any electronic components. if you handle things properly, they don't break. this time around i've done my homework, and i know this model is the best decision i can make at this point. i also do have an amp already, but it's just a mustang mini. for my uses, for my level of expertise or lack thereof, for what i need, and for my budget, this is the right guitar for me. i didn't post this asking for opinions on what guitar i should buy, i posted this to get opinions on the aesthetics. your opinions on my ability to do my homework, on my common sense, and on the level of completion of my brain, which you seem to think is like the death star after episode 4, are all not wanted. i asked a simple question, red or blue. its not an IQ exam so don't treat it like one.

You don't think a guitar sounding like shit is a problem.... Ya, you're chalk full of common sense. Get the red one then, ya meat-head

it is, and that's a problem I'm fixing by getting one with much better reviews. not a single review doesn't say its the best guitar you can get for the money. value for money...boy that sounds a lot like common sense to me but I'm just a half-empty meathead, herpaderpalerp. stupid is as stupid does, and stupid buys 6 guitars when there are much better things to spend that money on.
close this shit. I'm going to bed, no more debate club tonight. fuck i forgot how much ibis is like high school...
