Saturday, July 11, 2009:
The day started like every other day.
We loaded the server list as we usually do.
It appeared to be running, as we saw the other servers being listed.
But things are not always what they appear.
The server listed every known server except three.
These servers (Gun Game, Zombie, and Public) we're controlled by one entity.
That entity is known only as ibis.
A clan dedicated to the universes gaming enjoyment, only when were operational.
This morning they weren't.
It is our mission to figure out how such an anominally could occur.
And the only way to achieve this was to brave the Forums!

If I had my Marine service revolver, I would have shot myself in the head after reading that bullshit.

Anyway, yes, the servers are down at the moment.
I heard that es_tools is fucking things up?
If it's creating an infinite loop, that will eat the processor cycles and memory and cause it to jam, in Layman's terms, without crashing, and therefore it cannot restart.

This is dumb. We're paying $11/mo. for a lagging server with a significant amount of downtime, while the only persons able to restart the machine are on vacation?
The more trusted regulars should be given access to allow a forced reboot of the server...

Maybe Zero should give us his cell so we can take turns bitching about random problems.
I'm think he would enjoy that more. :icon_mrgreen:

Of course I know. We're issued the Beretta M9, which is a full-size semi-automatic pistol chambered for the 9x19mm Parabellum round that takes 15 in the mag and one in the pipe.
I was speaking loosely.

I saw it quoted as such on the movie description of my favorite movie, so, I went off that basis.

WTF did u all do to crash the zm server...
zero be calm all we did was make a all epic war with the pods on boatscape5 and zombies running scared and yeaaaaaaaaaaaa i think our epic battle crashed the server
Me and Curdy were in the pods trying kill the zombies on the bunker island.
Then it crashed.
LuLz.
I have fixed it so that the error that prevented the server from auto rebooting no longer occurs. Also I have added a new service that automatically detects if an error results in the server not booting the network card properly. This new service will prevent the error from this morning that resulted in all the servers being down until I got up to check on them.
Hopefully no more crashes for the rest of my trip also admins will be activated tomorrow. :wtg:

I think the server and forums share a common link and when the text for walter saying "a revolver is the same as a beretta" came up, the servers were like "oh hell no" and crashed to punish walter for saying such a thing.
Thanks alot walter!!!

Holy Fuck!
SORRY FOR MY INCORRECT TERMINOLOGY!!
Jesus...
I didn't even call the Beretta a revolver per-se. I referenced the pistols that the United States Marines use. But anyway, I AM SORRY!
The Beretta is a semi-automatic pistol!
Happy!?!?

:lmao:
If the epic battle made the server crashed I think it was worth it , it was really EPIC. I thought blowing up the bunker happened so the server didnt know how to destroy it and it crashed! But the zombies would of died so I think its safe Curdy and the other guy made the humans win.

All Marines are not issues a pistol either. Gotta be an officer or be a ground pounder, even then you aren't guaranteed one.
