Paintball Thread !

D4 is what I wanna play. although alot of people tell me I belong in the D3 league. screw that, way too many bad refs in that division.

as for gear:

goggles - proto axis pro enigma
elbow pads - planet eclipse 09 distortion
chest protector - planet eclipse overlord shirt
slider shorts - empire ground pounder slider pants
knee pads - planet eclipse 09 distortion
cleats - nike track and field cleats
jersey - differs, my team has a bunch of team jerseys from dye to empire to smart parts
pants - I always wear empire, right now I have the LTD skyline pants from empire
marker (gun) - 09 planet eclipse ego white and black with a custom grip
air source - a 50/4500 ninja carbon fiber air tank
barrel - 14in ego barrel
gloves - don't like to use them but I do have a pair of empire freedom gloves.

I also have a smart parts ion dynasty version as a back up gun. a huge planet eclipse gear bar to carry all this stuff around. oh and instead of wearing those gay bandana's that look like mullets lol, I wear an awesome turtlecap.

i love to get bounces where I can on my gear.

I buy most of my gear from ansgear.com, I highly recommend it to anyone who is in need of new gear.

just remember paintball is a luxury sport, if you don't have the money to pay and play, than you shouldn't be playing.

I still have to travel for all those events lol.

huntington beach is the best though, cause of the great road trip there lol and plus I don't have to worry about shipping my air tank via fedex ground to other out of state events.

I read the first couple posts and was kinda dissapointed til I saw maynards posts, glad some of the posts are about speedball. It's been a couple years since I've played because I used to live in NJ where I could play every weekend but it's impossible to find a decent place in the midwest where I am now. Me and my brother used to play, he did psp/nppl for Quickshot Paintball, I didn't have the money at the time. We've sold most of our stuff so if I find pics I'll post em. 07 Pev's ego (black/gold), VLocity loaders, Black and red DM8 (or 9 can't remember), and a black and blue pm5 as backup, dye throttle tanks, smart parts and Redz apparel. I used to play with Chris Designor who now plays professionally with DC arsenal and with, not kidding, Greg Hastings (Shot him in the FACE!!!)

i play pretty often at skirmish, hogback mountain, and pevs paintball fields.

i own three guns

1. smartparts ion with a freak barrel, nos tank, halo hopper, and some other minor upgrades
2. tippmann 98 custom camo with extended barrel and a cheap electronic hopper
3. pmi piranha, my first gun, its a piece of shit select fire gun that almost never works

i want a dye dm9 but am having trouble finding the money to pay for it ($1200)

I have The Standard Tippman mask, but airbrushed with flames and an orange lens, run my Tippman 98 custom, with expansion chamber, double response trigger, empire loader, 16in ceramic sniper barrel, puts out between 4-6 balls per second but is deadly accurate at a semi good distance.

Also use my Ion with freak barrel kit, Carbon fiber air tank, also has Empire loader, stock with dovetail attachment, puts 10-12 balls a second, Rocking the carolina blue :)

Bumping this mother fucking thread like a boss.

I'm having a hard time with the feed neck on my Alpha Black, because the cunt who made it decided that he was going to make the internal little switch for the feed neck fucking impossible to do by hand. So I either end up having the feed neck STUCK on forever, or the feed neck won't fit on because the switch is stuck in the downward position. I just took it apart because I found out the orange ball stopper was backwards >.> and hopefully even though I put CO2 through it while it was backwards, it won't effect the preformance of the gun. (Jams, No bolt return etc etc)

Anyone else have the same problem with Tippmanns ?

Inside the marker itself, I took it apart several times to get a feel for the inner workings, put it back together fine. I took it apart a few weeks ago and put the ball stopper in backwards, and because of this the gun would not work correctly. So I once again took it apart, fixed the ball stopper, and now the gun shoots just fine.

NOW, what I'm talking about is where the feed neck for the gun attaches. Inside there is a piece of metal that acts as a spring, so you can use the lever to attach and detach the feed neck. If that little piece of metal gets bent or moves or ANYTHING while you're putting the other side of the gun back on it will fuck up and not work.

By not work I mean one of these two things.

1. The piece of metal gets jammed between the lever, and both sides of the frame, and the feed neck will stay STUCK forever unless you take the gun apart, this is the better of the two.

2. The piece of metal breaks loose and sits inside the frame jammed against the lever and when you try to attach the feed neck it's just too loose. This sucks because now I HAVE to take it apart in order to attach a hopper.

This little piece of bent metal has about less than a millimeter of space to stay put, and any movement makes it pop out. makes me rage hard, considering super gluing the lower half of it so it won't move, but the top will still work. If all else fails, the feed neck will have to be perma installed.

that used to happen to my friend's cheap ass paintball gun a while back. after he got a better one, he machined his old one a little to try and make it better. he used a drummel to grind down some places and let the thing feed quicker, and also made a few small changes to allow it to fire at a slightly higher pressure.

result was a fire rate (semi-auto) almost as fast as his new (fully-auto) gun, and fucking incredible range

did i mention his was cheap as shit? i'm not sure there was any type of dedicated feed mechanism. the paintballs fell through a hole into the barrel after every trigger pull (a small metal flap was pulled back by the trigger directly after discharging the shot)

99% of guns are like that, from the $20 ones to thr $2000 ones. The A-5 was the first to use the cyclone feed system, the only thing that sucks is that it's a huge target on the side of your gun, or if you're left handed i guess.

i didn't say chopping was outshooting, i said chopping is caused by outshooting, which it is.

and it's really hard to tell you how to put something back together with a poor discription and no pictures. next time you have a problem take some pictures and i can look at mine and try to figure out what happened.

yeah its fucking pricy to get into paintballing i usually buy my gear used and test it to make sure its not broken but once you got all the gear its one of the most fun things to do.

air is free most places. you can bring your own balls if you go into open class which is cheaper than buying the fields paint balls. usually 10-20 fee to play.

sounds like you were pretty set with that gear i regret selling my invert mini and my airtank cause now i gotta buy all that shit again. i was gonna get the 09 pmr last week but i got the dangerous power g4 instead for 180 i still need to get a tank and then ill be set. and yeah you should get back into it its a great sport without a doubt.
