Yes, this is actually my guess (the booster being irrelevant). Apparently getting the flu vaccine ends up causing your body to fight an essentially very mild flu. And guess what happens when diabetics get sick? High blood sugars. Guess what happens when you have high blood sugar? YOU GET PIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSED.

...drilling through galvanized steel/C-beams. You're pressing hard on the drill and then when you finally get through, the keyed chuck bashes into the drywall :banghead::banghead::banghead: and the depth gauge also leaves a mark :headache::headache::headache:
It's also stressful for your triceps!
Just a tip: Do all your electrical wiring BEFORE the drywallers come!

The pump SUPPLIES aren't even covered by insurance, which means $5,000 for a pump that lasts about 5 years, plus ~$100 for pump supplies per month = >$2,000 per year for a pump on top of what I'm already paying for insulin, test strips, etc. Cannot do.

Growing up I was always in the hospital because my seizures were always out of control and there was nothing they could really do about it at the time.
I almost died ALOT of times from them (my seizures)
Then i had to get surgery throughout my life for seizures (got like 4 surgerys)
Then when i hit like age 15 I met this guy i really liked and was with him for like a year (Thank god he had to move FAR AWAY), and then he started abusing me Really BAD (Trust me you have no idea) And he tried to kill me whenever he was angry!!!!! Also I was threatened to not tell anyone!!!! And he said if i did tell anyone he would kill my family and make sure i was there to watch him kill them slowly:cry: :cry: :cry: :cry:
and then he said after he did that he would kill me slowly and painfuly and make sure i suffer!!!
I was in that relationship for like a year, and i was with him everyday almost 24/7, i didn't want to but i had no choice, god knows what would have happened....
I'm still scarred bad from it

but right now my heart is pounding because im nervous. i about fucking died because of my meter. i checked my sugars and it said it was 414. i immediately injected 10 units of insulin to bring my sugars down. i felt strange because it felt like i was hypo and not hyper so four minutes later i checked my sugars and my meter said 40. i ate about six glucose tablets and drank a nestea sweet tea and ive been checking my sugars every two minutes or so to see what kind of readings i get.

It's not diabeetus that's affecting Ren, Wilford Brimley dumped her after they dated for 2 months. They met at a yearly ADA (American Diabeetus Assosication) Seminar. It was quite sad.

AHAHAHA. If I had dated Wilford, maybe I could've at least swiped a pump from his house or something. Though just to clarify, Wilford clearly has type TWO diabetes, which is very different from type 1.
To answer your question, Sin, I've never been in a diabetic coma. I think that's pretty rare and would tend to happen when the person first gets diabetes and is undiagnosed (my mom tutored a little girl who went into a diabetic coma when she was a baby and had resulting brain damage/learning disabilities). There was actually a DOCTOR living with my family and I when I got diabetes, so we caught it pretty early. The conversation went something like this:
Ren: Man, I have been SO THIRSTY lately. It's weird.
Dr. Mike: Maybe you have diabetes.
Ren: Lol.
Also, I'm not generally paranoid about my blood sugars because there are symptoms. For example, I just make sure to check them when I feel myself really getting irritable and mad at things that shouldn't bother me.

at first its a little tedious but after a while its just like brushing your teeth. i was a little angry when i was first diagnosed and i really didnt take great care of my beetus so i was actually in pretty bad shape for a while. i had high cholesterol at the age of 18 and i was always feeling sick. but im glad to say now that i have sucked it up and i have great control of it now so that i have normal cholesterol, tight control of my sugars, and my a1c was a six. im not paranoid though because i just check my sugars basically before i eat anything or when i have the feeling my sugars may be high or low.
as for a diabetic coma, i havent had one.

I had also just broken up with my boyfriend of 3 years and got my wisdom teeth out and had to go to the emergency room because I kept throwing up and my blood sugars were dropping. It was awkward. I fondly remember that as the best summer of my life.
Honestly, I'm probably still in the angry phase. I don't take my shots very much and my A1cs are around 10. I know I'm going to die, blah blah. I kind of forsee that I'm more of the "hit by a bus" person, though, so I'm not overly concerned. I'd really like to get in better control, though... I'm just so ANGRY that I'm supposed to take a shot every time I eat. Fuck that.
