I was interested until I saw that I needed sicurerom on top of already having steam:

FUCK YOU BIOSHOCK 2!

I do not understand how they are still trying to push this stupid bs. The fact that they even force it on steam users shows how fucking stupid these companies are. I will never buy a game that uses 3rd party DRM on steam no matter what the game is (still waiting for GTA4).

And it looks like you must be logged into games for windows live to save your games. WTF

wtf? That sounds fucking retarded. Was bioshock any good? I saw it for 360 I believe and was interested but decided against it.

Still playing it, I have had it for a year but with my computer getting blown up all the time and working on the servers I have not finished it yet. Currently I am juggling it along with like 3 other games trying to get though them. I got a lot of time b/c it looks like there are not any games coming out that are any good that do not have some BS tied to them.

Agreed.

I don't see what the problem is, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Grand theft Auto IV, Resident Evil 5, and Gears of war were good games that required that you have a live account and actively sign on in order to save.

Batman: Arkham Asylum is a single player game isn't it? Just like Bioshock. Why should you be required to have internet connection for it? The idea is completely irrational. Not everyone has their 360 connected to the internet. And if I recall, 360 doesn't even come with wireless, does it? Mine didn't. So I would have go to out of my way to either buy a wireless adapter, or plug it into a hard line.

yea and that wireless adapter goes for about 70-90$ fyi

complete horseshit imo

There will be save hacks for that one. Resident Evil 5 was the same way then a hack came out that would let you log into windows live (from another account offline) and save. This will happen here. I wonder when companies will realize that their fail drm doesn't work and discourages us from actually buying their games.

Chronicles of Riddick Dark Athena was the same way. Had a shit ton of drm and look at the reviews it had from amazon when compared with the pc to console versions.

360 (http://www.amazon.com/Chronicles-Riddick-Assault-Athena-Xbox-360/dp/B001L18RIE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1264091526&sr=8-1) 4/5

Ps3 (http://www.amazon.com/Chronicles-Riddick-Assault-Athena-Playstation-3/dp/B001L1AJ80/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1264091526&sr=8-2) 4/5

They will never learn.

That is also why I am still boycotting all of those games too. Any game that requires unnecessary bs to play the game I will have nothing to do with.

I don't see what the problem is. Sure I had to DL PB when I played COD4 online, and sure that was a pain, but I liked playing it. Downloading a third party program to run it isn't going to ruin my fun... unless I have to pay EXTRA for it.

Personally I don't care. Sounds just as much of a pain in the ass as DLing a game from a Torrent site and using Daemon Tools. That's what it sounds like to me.

Shit I didn't realize this was the bioshock2 thread. For some reason somewhere in this thread I thought we were talking about mass effect 2. My bad.

Got leaked out yesterday.

I am not saying that is a good idea either, when I say boycott I will not play the game even if it is free.

Yeah but isn't that was securecom is? Another copycat of Daemon Tools? If it is, it sounds like Microsoft and 2K are trying to get rid of bootleg copies.

I think the thing that is really going to attract me to Bioshock 2 (besides the fact that the first 1 was epicly scary and intense) is the new draw of multiplayer between you and the citizens of Rapture before the cities destruction from the civil war.

securerom is probably the worst drm program ever made while Daemon Tools is a program used for mounting virtual disks. They have nothing to do with each other other than securerom can break programs like that.

My copy of bioshock is installed on 3 computers I think, my laptop couldn't play it so I lent it to a friend for like 6 months, he installed it but never really touched it, then I got my new computer with DX9 chip, installed in on that, didnt work, got a card with DX10 and then I could finally play it. The DRM is bullshit and just gets in my way.

Windows live also pisses me off, I got Dawn of War II on Steam, but everything thing in that game, including single player I need a live account, Being 16 I couldent make one to play M games and I went through this whole bullshit thing where I.... gave them bullshit, now I cant make a live account with my base email or my spam.....

So I cant play the damn game, because I didn't want a damn live account.

Until they scale it back so far that it no longer exists they are just dicking around. The fact that they would even scale it back proves that even they think it is stupid. So why is it there, oh because someone is making money off of it... well my money will not be going to fund failed DRM programs and their cronies.

OMG it looks like they removed it!? I no longer see 3rd party DRM on the steam store page!?!?!

EDIT: WTF those motherfuckers just removed the warning and it is still there but now hidden in fine print at the bottom of the page!

So as you can see with there latest DLC requiring people to pay $5 in order to play on 50 slot servers only shows how stupid these companies are. :banghead:

There is more to the DLC then that
• Rank Increase to level 50 with Rank Rewards
• New playable characters Louie McGraff and Oscar Calraca
• 20 new trials*
• A third weapon upgrade for each weapon
• Five additional masks*
*Some items are only available after a player achieves a rank of 41 or higher.
