I'm disappointed in Alienware. Too costly. Can get/build a better one for cheaper.

And I'm pretty sure Res' motherboard got fried due to a virus.

I agree. You don't let people touch your computer for multiple reasons.

My list of reasons include: Making the keyboard and mouse greasy, deleting or going through personal files, and some other things.

I don't want to fix the old one because then Im forced to buy a new one. Hopefully James can help me get all the parts that I would want/need and he can help me throw together a nice computer. The old one was shit anyway, pretty sure a virus fried some shit in there.

Different users, groups, file permissions, and access control (e.g. ACL-based security model). Learn it.

Well tell us what you want to salvage from you old pc and price, you are looking at and we can figured out a good setup for you.

And useless a virus flashed the bios, a virus cant fuck up a motherboard

Ive got 2 1/2 gigs of Ram in there, not sure what kind. Everything else I could give a shit less about. I dont even really care about my HD, it was slow and old. So Im just going to build one.
