These are updates to security plugins to prevent hacking and dos attack. In otherwords the entire point of these plugins is to reduce lag and hackers.

there is not anything to test they are just updates for the current versions we run. Also the only thing you can really test for locally is just that it does not crash or lag. They are logically tested for this but it is assumed from that point that any new problems will be found within an hour of going live.

Choke has been a big issue for me too, and its been set at the default rates. On any giving map i can stay in the constant 40 to 50 choke unless there are very few people playing

I have seen it go 8 and 8 and it auto balances and 11-0 and does not, its frustrating to say the least.

I agree that while the autobalance currently is done by sheer numbers and mathmatics, that it should offer a ranking option to compensate for the top 4 people that have a score of 25 vs the opposite teams 4 top people may have only scores of 12-15 which is unfair for the teams OA stats.
Yes, you can do it manually but that is really a P I T A !!!

I can turn it down so that it not as prevalent. All the servers always ran gore mod, just at different levels. Currently the gg and pub are at default and the zm is jacked way up.

I'd like to see an increase in server capacity IF it will handle it or can be upgraded to one that will as we have been getting maxxed out more + more as of late and while 21 is good I think 36 would be better.

Also I know that Z hs been making map changes but has anyone ever thought of putting together a 25 map pack cycle with possible 3-5 packs available to switch from either automatically or by a higher tiered admin after one map cycle runs its course after several hours or if the natives get sick of the pack that's been running?

If thats not a lot of work then it would realy be an awesome tool for "some" admins to have to help make the server a bit more interesting as well as leading the way above others.

Just my 2 cents

I have got to say increasing the gungame server capacity to 36 is the stupidiest idea you have ever had. You see what happened to zm when the server capacity went up, it turned to shit and that is exactly what will happen to gungame if that happens.

ummm, once again for the record i'm having a blast on zm lately. it's almost back to how it was when i first played on it (round last november-ish)

ummm, once again for the record i'm having a blast on zm lately. it's almost back to how it was when i first played on it (round last november-ish)

I know i am saying it is fine the way it is, but if the amount of players were to increase the server would turn to shit just like zombie mod.

i definately agree about upping slots on gg, but zm isn't shit anymore. it's somewhat stabilized.

see, i've noticed an interesting effect. it was incredible, until zero updated to a diff. version of zm. the changed zombie settings caused several legend members (james, hobo, etc...) to play it less often, which caused those who enjoyed playing it w/ said legend members to leave as well, opening the doors for the annoying children to flood the place.

now, recently, some more popular admins have come back (rob, blade, etc...) and have sarted to patrol it more. this has drawn some of the older players back (viper, james...) and thus it's becoming more and more appealing to those who left previously.

the impreovements in admining (lets face it, james and rob don't take shit from anyone. zm's too hectic to tolorate much at all) have drastically helped to reduce the ammount of noobs.

hell, dart and okinawa_dragon are even playing it now.

Just think about it for a minute. If gungame was upped from 21 slots to 36 it will be a fucking hell storm. Maps like X Box, will have bullets flying everywhere. Many of the gungame maps are simply not large enough for that many players. Another thing is that we could play on larger maps, but if you take a look at all the popular maps you will see that all of them are fairly small and simple. No one wants to pay on a map where you have to walk 30 seconds from spawn just to see an enemy. Also large maps cause prolonged gameplay, such as when only a couple players are left alive wonderiong around in circles trying to find the enemy, but having no succes. I think gungame is fine the way it is, if it is always full then that is a good sign that it is perfect the way it is and should not be changed.

I don't see why everyone is having such a problem with this gore mod, i am still able to play with the same rates i had before, no ping spikes, or massive fps changes. I really don't know why everyone is getting such bad results from it.

there's never more blood in game than ever before, because the threshold for removing blood/blletholes is still the same. it just looks retarded when someone gets shot...or when you take falling damage (it looks like a garden hose of blood is appearing from bottom of screen.

I sure haven't been. It's felt like a dream! However, the amount of times that a gun will glitch out (the crosshair will change and will disappear when you switch to your knife) has seemed to increase a LOT. While it used to happen maybe once per person per map now it seems to happen a few times per map at least.

Uh zero I dont know what you removed but you havent removed any of the maps you said you would, and bhk_assault_runner is still on here regardless of the fact you said you removed it a few months ago.


so heres the checklist of what needs to be fixed.

1. Remove the maps you said you would from the database, not only on the admin lists so there a 100% gone

2. Remove Gore mod

3. Remove the afk kicker that kicks you for sitting in spectate when your still talking and doing something in it like demoing a hacker or aimbotter, it even kicks admins who sit in spec for more than the alloted time.


4. remove the floating bodies and put it back to the stock ragdolls.

it wouldnt lag the server if it was set back to normal and right now its a combination of the gore mod, floating bloody bodies that block your shots and take the damage from them instead of the person behind them and sometimes normal bouncing ragdolls are probably what's making the server so unstable right now.


5. Fix it so it stops kicking people during the map change for a reserved slot even when the servers not full

6. remove the reserve slots period if you cant fix the above, there just an annoyance for everyone playing on the server.

7. update the nominate list to include all of the maps and re rig it up so it actually takes us there, once everyone rtv's

8. the nextmap plug in is somewhat broken and doesnt actually tell you what the next map is unless the admin set the next map.

How are you checking if the maps are there? If they are removed from the lists it is impossible for them to appear in the rotation votes. However if the maps are still saved on the server they will show up when you enter commands into console asking for map lists. Rcon bypasses the lists of "allowed" maps and grants access to everything. For example from hlsw I can force the server to maps not on the list if they are on the server. But when they are "removed" they can not show up in votes and so effectively they are not really there.

we'll what Im saying is that theres a bunch of maps that were supposed to be removed that we keep finding and playing, and its not a matter of an admin finding them they do actually show up in the votes like bhk_assualt_runner and gg_300.


hell just post the entire list of maps on the database here and ill tell you if there on or not so we can get to the bottom of this.

There are some maps like gg_300 that were in the admin list but not on the rotation in that admins can put those maps up but only admins. That is the difference between totally removed and removed from rotation.

Zero the server is also consistantly crashing every 4th map or so because of the gore mod and I need to see the full map server list to see what exactly should be removed and kept

this servers just going to get worse and more crash prone if you dont start listing to your communities pleas on dumb stuff like the gore mod that shouldnt have been added on to the server in the first place, and if you dont believe us then play it on a normal computer, not some super machine custom built for this shit.

Funny, because very time I get on, at least half of the players are talking about how most of these new maps are trash. Out of these new ones, sl_bend, awp_angular and minesweeper are the only ones that aren't total junk that are just cluttering the nominate list. I can't believe the amount of complaining (from a very few people that just happen to have admin) about "playing the same maps over and over again" considering there are about 25 maps that we play repeatedly. CS has survived this whole time on 2 maps, and every GG server I've ever played on has a much smaller map rotation of popular maps because if you add a bunch of maps like this, all people are stuck doing is playing junk maps and praying that they can get enough people to RTV. Thanks for making one of the only good GG servers on CS:S total shit.

1. When one of these new maps is loaded, 90% of the time the chat is full of "OMFG can we please RTV this shithole map," and I've had multiple voice chat conversations with multiple players about not only the clutter, but the quality.

2. The past 7 times I have played while you were on, EVERY SINGLE TIME one of the unknown maps was voted in, you personally changed the map as soon as the game was over to a common map, most recently Sex_fix over concrete_gillman and city summer over a random simpsons map. Hypocrite.

3. The fuck do you know about me? Nothing. Just because you pay whatever fucking amount of money that I don't doesn't make you any more or less right or wrong, which in this sad-assed shitpost, you're wrong on everything except for the amount of money it takes to be admin. FACT.

I change the map when I am able to, if I feel like doing so and if it's suitable at the time. As well as having senior admin at the time. There are certain maps that keep the server populated, and most of the ones I choose do. In this case, you are correct; sex_fix. It is a map 10:2 players enjoy playing; thus it brings a larger population in. More players: reputable server.

Concrete Aztec battle Tillman whatever the fuck on the other hand, no one plays because it is a camp map worse than churches and texture city advanced combined. The sounds are also fucked up. Grass textures emit concrete sounds and sand sounds emit stone. No one can remember that when they understand how the game works and rely on sound for a majority of their gameplay. I asked you about 6 times what map you wanted to go to because I was being considerate. You never replied.

You are not special d-town -- and no, neither am I. Whether I pay $1.99 or $11 or I pay $0, none of us have a higher authority than a clan member. We are all in this together. And you putting words in other people's mouths is not going to get you very far; not that it would have, anyway.

Contribute a detailed suggestion without bashing every individual that has a different opinion than you, and thighs might, just might go your way.

Where were you when all these map suggestions came to light that could have received structured criticism and may have never made it to the server to begin with if you fought hard enough?

If you really cared about this clan/community, you would contribute respectfully. Leave the financial part to those who enjoy playing here up to them. If you feel they are taking their privileges to the extreme; report them. If you're tired of reporting them, submit a rule change request. Just don't say fuck and bitch every other word, "all mother fucking day".

There's a reason people like hiphop, rarely anyone can kill, whom is rank 1 when roshill is inactive compared to you. Hiphop is highly respected for the amount of respect he shares with all players. EDIT: I have played with you 3 times not 7 over the past 2 months. I have no time to get on as much as I wish to, I work too much. Amongst those 3 times came 2 map changes. 1 was sex fix over Gillman, and the other was city summer over Simpsons street. Summer is no longer on the map list and hasn't been for a while, and a lot of players enjoy that version. I like giving them some nostalgia as well as myself on one of the better versions of city.

I think the problem is that the people who can only squeeze in a couple hours of CS a week want to play on the safe, popular maps, while those who play almost everyday are rather bored of those maps. 90% of the times I connect to the server, it's either sex fix, tex city, deagle, spacetower, blue arena or churches, but it's almost always a populated server. Personally, I'm sick of those maps and want to play on different ones but a lot of people don't like trying new things. That's why when a new or less-known map comes up, some people leave rather than actually trying to give the map a chance (eg. saying "What the fuck is this shit" just after spawning and typing rtv).

People gotta start giving maps a chance. The first time I played sex fix was last year, after coming back to CS after a 6-7 year hiatus. If I had never given it a chance, then I would've been missing out. So, in order to find more maps that are considered "safe," you need to go through new or less-known maps and pick out the ones that are enjoyable. There are many maps on the server that aren't played on regularly but are good (like fy_playhard). When new maps are added, there are bound to be a few maps that aren't enjoyable due to it looking sexy on gamebanana or to it being enjoyable on other servers because of the different mods. If there's a map that sucks, request for it to be removed, as simple as that.

Thank you. I get set off by what Money said about people still wanting to play the old maps. I have (as well have many other people on the server) told Money a ton of times in game that we're tired of him changing the map to a shit map EVERY time one of the old maps get voted in, most of the time by a 80+% margin. Different does not equal good, but he sees it that way. "Maps like gg_punishment and playground_x are fucking server cancer, but they're different, so they're better than funtimes or deagle!" No. If you look at the new maps section of updates, it's nothing but posts from him. To say that he doesn't have more say about this because he's an admin is ridiculous. He admonishes every person who complains when he changes the map as well, saying shit like "we play this all the time" when people (NOT just me) complain about why we aren't playing the map that won the vote. If the server didn't want to play it, it wouldn't have won. Even Whitey said that I was right about these shit maps that are flooding the server being a bad thing for the server staying full, even if he said it in a manner that made it seem like he wasn't agreeing with me, because he can't do that.

That's because I was agreeing with you. I just added a few more variable arguments to it. For example; maps that kill the server, maps that no one likes. I suggested gg_punishment because it is a good throwback, and is quite fun. Not really too much area on it to camp. I did not expect it to be bumped to the top of the nomination menu. Nomination menus should be in alphabetical order anyway to aide in playing maps that are less played. No one really wants to dig through over 30 pages of maps to finally find something like gg_zobstacles.

I suggested sl_bend because that is a map every server should have. It's classic. I don't know a single person that dislikes that map. I didn't like it at first because it was slightly enclosed and the opposing team always kills you spot on as soon as you make a move, but once you learn where you can REALLY go, it's great.

I suggested gg_minesweeper because it's another classic. A lot of people like it; not all. It's mediocre to me - I can't win on minesweeper, but I don't care. People wanted the map on the server and so do I, so it's on there now through all the gripes it got.

I suggested gg_minecraft2 because it's another great map that every server should have. We may not be -specific clan- but -specific clan- has a full server whenever this map is played and the old version of churches (with no entities). But with the player base we have and how they play, that map will do us no good (churches). trs churches is fine.

After the Simpsons maps are pulled off of the server, maplist.txt needs to be made alphabetical. It's not difficult, either. There are generators out there that do it with the click of a button. I hate to see IBIS suffer; I like it here. But without updates we are nothing, whether a good approach or bad, updates are necessary to keep a stable, welcomed* community.
