Well I can say that with no redirects I doubt that I may add more servers for the game. Well I guess we will just see. However to tell you all the truth, if there was not so many people dedicated to this community I really would just shut everything down.

For example I know that post update server traffic is going to be way down. As a result there will likely be less admin subscreptions and therefore less funds for expansion. My main hope now is for NS2 and hope that I can recover future losses there.

Valve may make the game but they forget that it is the server owners who run it. While the players may be annoyed by an update it is the server owners who constantly pays the real price.

No as the file structure is different. So it is like starting from scratch then you got to copy everything over. Maps and sounds ect too. Then you got to put all the new mods on from scratch and test them one at a time. Then when everything works I got to put it in a rar file and send it to the server then unpack it and then unload it after deleting the existing server to save space.

This is going to take even longer than I thought. See why I just want to quit. :violin:

Yes Zero is a great guy for dealing with this crap. I remember back in the day with my Unreal server where some mods called for recoding some server files (thankfully there were how-to guides). This is just as bad it seems.

And I agree. This update isnt that bad. Deathcams and crap take a bit to get used to, same with the new menus, but its not for the worst in any means. And think, Valve could have removed support for dedicated servers like Activision did for CODMW2.

@blade - make sure you enable multicore in the menu. It helps.

The server you are trying to play hasn't been updated yet.

There are only a handful that are updated as of now. And they are either full or have 40+ people in them.

Would you care to post some evidence for that? I've been playing the beta for about 5 hours now and noticed that damage seems consistent. I didn't see any indication in the beta that damage was off, though there was questions about the recoil.

Edit: CS:S updated version, not playing the beta for 5 hours. I played the beta for about 10-15 hours.

Pub server ready, note that there is going to be some plugins and functions missing for a while. For now we will need to make due with the minimum until everything is slowly coded over. For example gore mod does not work nor is there any steam bans for now.

In about an hour you should see the pub server online. Once this is up I will start work on the gg server next!

Yea it should show back up when it is online. I take the old server off line when the upload for the new one starts. The size is a few GB so it takes a long time on a home internet connection to upload. When you see a server go offline that means that the upload for the new server has started.

In a bit the upload for the pub server will be finished and it will go live. I will be in the server for a little bit just to see that everything starts up ok and then I will leave to start the upload for the gg server. While the gg server uploads I will start working on the zm server.

great registry, new/fixed hitboxes, no more crabwalking, bunny hopping has been slown wayyyyy down, enhanced recoil, and a lot more i cant think of right now. basically as much as we all thought this was an update for the random pubber, they really hooked it up for the competitive player. all the achievement garbage can be turned off, and this new scoreboard bullshit can be reverted back to the old manually. zBlock will be taking care of all that soon!

only thing is, now it only costs 7 dollars, and there will be a huge new wave of cheaters again... bleh.

1) hitboxes

2) damage. the guns now deal insane fucking ammounts of damage.

3) god mode doesn't work in a player-created server

4) the fucking death cam. it's integrated into the after-death spectate option. turn off one you turn off both

5) the game doesn't run anywhere near as smooth as before

6) the dimensions are fucked up. i used to run in n800x600 window with no problems. now it's all too small to see

7) fucking player icons

8) CAN"T CHANGE YOUR NAME

Your supposed to shoot infront of the target so he runs into the bullet, its only close up that it seemed weird and its been 6 years like that so the changing it now completely throws us through a loop and because of those new fixed hitboxes and the updated netcode the game seems too easy and downright boring now.

the game is meant to be played at 66 tick now, meaning that if you leave it at that setting then everything will run as it should. recoil has changed, you can no longer "run n gun" and shoot semi-accurately anymore and get "sourced". the ak no longer shoots as fast as it used to when playing on 66 tick, although if you played on 100 tick it will shoot normally. basically, all of hitbox/registry/recoil fixes they made, will only be evident on 66.

i was playing on a 66 tick server at 150 ping and still getting 1deags and raping face with the ak. THAT is a GOOD thing. it will bring the west/east communities closer. people on the east won't look down on scrims offered on west coast servers, and vice versa.
