Little computer halp.

Seems for what ever reason nothing on my computer will update, at first it was Firefox, thought nothing of it and ignored it. Now Steam won't take the new update, and I cannot even access steam for games. I guessing this is going to happen with the rest of programs, need they be updated.

Anyone have any ideas ? This fucking blows.

Completely delete them (registry and all) and reinstall, if still no go, we can go from there

O - O Asking ppl to deal with the registry (most of the time) is like telling them to reformat cuz they'll fuck it up 99% of the time :P

Res - Rename ALL your files that you are having problems with (my comp-right click-explore) ONE AT A TIME to <filename>_old - reinstall same program to see if that works or not. If yes, then rinse + repeat and take selective sections that are from _old and insert them (in proper place) after scanning them with an AV prog

After you dig out the files you need, delete them with REVO

If that doesn't work then I'd try a GOOD AV program like AVAST,

etc to knock down any potential problems there

It was a file in my steam folder, blob something, deleted it and restarted steam.
Fixed it.

Still doesn't explain the others.
