You got it backwards. The players aren't the ones being greedy. The NFL has been siphoning TV revenue to fund a work stoppage to use as leverage to force the PA's complicity with a new agreement that would basically amount to a couple billion extra bucks for the owners. They did this in secret, and refuse to show financial records.

I don't like unions, but these guys have a right to be pissed off.

While I don't agree that it was a secret, I do agree with the fact that the NFL owners are running a business and therefor are allowed to make all the extra money they want.

The players are being greedy, they won the 16-18 game battle and the clubs were going to receive money, increasing over 4 years for benefits for the players. However, they didn't think the amount was enough and now we go to court.

What sucks is that the judge has always been pro-player.

The players have what expenses again? Who is the ones who need to build the stadiums and everything else that costs all the money. That is where most of the money belongs so that the can continue to improving it for the fans. Paying the players more money has no impact on the game but being able to spend more money on other things does. (obviously I am saying this in reference to the crazy amounts of money the players already get, not saying they should not be making millions)

Pretty much what ZERO said. The players aren't being greedy? Really? They're not happy making millions and millions of dollars, they just have to have more! Somehow, I'm not even remotely sympathetic.

Nobody's arguing about players wanting more. They don't want shafted of their contracts when the NFL refuses to prove it needs the money, and has also proven to be untrustworthy.

I think most if not all sports players are over paid for the work they do. No offense, its entertaining to watch, but seriously, they need to stop the bullshit. If they are playing the sport for money, they should be kicked off the team so people who want to play the game for the game should be able to come on. Thus, making it more entertaining and less political. Im about sick of the players crying cause someone touched them in the wrong way. Be a fucking man, thats what your paid to do, its what your playing for. I think they should all take their panties off and have fun.

if they complain about it then why don't they just start there own NFL and then they can do as they wish and get paid as they wish.

lololololololololol

also, the players might seem like there being greedy but that is only because the owners have been lieing to them this whole time, thus the law suit.

See, part of the problem is that most people have no idea how much money they actually make, it's not pennies, but its no where near what most of you are bitching about. millions and millions? hell most of them wont, and will never, make even a million, some wont even make a million in their entire career.

stop comparing the Canadian football league with American football... NFL athletes are making millions a season.

Collectively NFL as a whole is a multi billion dollar franchise. if im not mistaken 12 billion to be exact.

Their contracts aren't guaranteed. They only make a percentage of it.
